Don’t suppose you seen the Futchers play for us did you ;)

Agree the fee is ridiculous but their must be something clubs see in him for him to be quoted as the price given

Transfer market is over the edge especially when you see Maguire £90m

But if we want something badly we will pay the price as will others, unless your Bayern fucking Munich

Not a bad shout actually. You can at least construct an argument that Neymar's fee was justified... he has a shot at being the best player in the world after Messi declines, is the most popular and marketable person in a country of 200 million by far, and took PSG's commercial appeal to another level, etc. Coutinho is a good player, but no.

yea there is definitely some talent there, but for that amount of money i would want a proven world class player, not a youngster.

i can see a situation where we moved more to academy players and creating our own talent. it makes more sense to me financially now.

Neymar and Mbappé’s fees were or are the going rate,but Coutinho’s fee was silly money,fucking hell if city sold barney we would get £200 mill in todays climate
 
The silliness began with us paying 50m for Stones. That just goaded Barcelona to later pay 3 times as much for another meh player. Don’t ya know.

(That said, I now like Stones and I don’t believe for a second that the crazy prices are due to us. It’s FIFA and UEFA and all the leagues fault now and for about 50 years)
 
I can see him really struggling at Atletico. Under Simeone, it just doesn’t seem the right club for him, particularly at this stage in his development.

In all seriousness, we have so much attacking power up front that it's hard to be too arsed about this. Especially if Sane stays.
