João Palhinha

I’m relaxed this window as I don’t believe what would be available would do for us.

We made what I would consider to be this buy in Sept in Nunes, which was probably pretty smart in one way. If we did not have him and he was on our list we would be buying this month as we clearly need another midfielder and he would have been one of the ones we could get.

Now we need one of the ones unavailable in Jan, Another so so player to go with Nunes, Phillips, Kova (?) is not. Needed,

Phillips will defo go mate, Pep isn’t going to play him and City may as well save on half his wages if it’s a loan deal somewhere. We 100% need someone in to replace him though

Fulham aren't really desperate to sell and I am still sticking by he will be ridiculously expensive for what we really need. Even with him being linked to Bayern and our title rivals in the media. It doesn't stop us planning for the Summer.

I didn't want Philips, I wasn't convinced by Nunes and I don't want Paulinho. He's not good enough imho. If we are going for a smaller squad we need real quality.
Sadly smaller squad wont cut it after this one with CWC and UCL games are increasing a lot

I agree he will go, but whether we replace I am not as sure as you. Our recruitment has been so good in recent years and it has shown in our recent success. The key to this has been getting the right players, which has involved us going into the season short consistently (CB, DM and ST have all been positions we have waited an additional year at a short term cost to the team for a long term gain with Dias, Rodri and Haaland).

So in short if the right player is available (such as when Laporte was) in Jan, perfect. If not, I would rather wait and get someone better in the summer.

He's looked ordinary of late for Fulham. Might be a case of him wanting out and it effecting his performances. Certainly wouldn't break the bank for him though.

The deal to Bayern fell through at the last minute and he was pissed, Took a couple of weeks to talk him round and with some talk of an extension to his terms. It sounded like a put off until Jan /Aug with a guaranteed lower release clause to me. We shall know soon enough if he is to be a replacement for Kimmich.

Agree to a point mate but say it’s a decision that costs us the historic 4 in a row premier league titles? We are chancing our arm with Rodri and Stones is also seemingly going to be out for a while as well so if that option for DM that’s now gone as well?
