Joao Cancelo | Al Hilal Player

No point in having that option to buy, Barcelona won’t be activating it. It’s gonna be the same issue next summer Cancelo only wants Barca and Barca come in with another loan with an option to buy, City should just tell him he needs to find a permanent buyer otherwise he’s stuck with us. I’m he’ll fuck off somewhere then
Why, so we can pay his wages? How's that in any way beneficial to us? It's not as good as selling him, but we get him off our wage bill and away from the squad...works for me.

We'll pay his wages anyway mate. No way are Barcelona going to pay them, with the caps they have. That's why they are holding out. We've seen it before.

The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is calling…

All difficult players please join the queue of death -:)

It is, in effect, a graveyard for has-beens who want the big pay-off (never mind that they're already rolling in cash that I couldn't find ways of spending even if I kept being born and reborn again and again, according to Hindu belief).
That's why I'm quite melancholy about Aymeric — a good footballer who is still in his prime — going there. Can't understand it.

Then it's no pay, no play I agree...

just because a player is under contract, we are not obliged to put him in the squad, nor are we obliged to sell him at terms that are not acceptable to us, he can train with the kids or by himself.

City dont need to be a charity to either him or barcelona, he got himself into this mess with his actions and attitude and as a grown up its on him to deal with that, barcelona got themselves into the mess as a business through their own criminal mismanagement and general terrible behaviour and now its on them to deal with that.

Thats harsh but thats reality.

Not sure that's entirely true mate.

Hypothetically, any player who is omitted from a Squad List could potentially terminate his contract under the Sporting Just Clause, however two factors stand in his way. Firstly, just because a player is omitted from a Squad List does not mean that he is ineligible to play in FA Cup, League Cup or European matches

Thats what google tells me.

I seem to remember that the only reason we brought Tevez back was because we couldn't leave him out of the squad indefinitely and we had to name him as part of the squad in 50% of the games.
I could be wrong.

i honestly dont know but it would seem absolutely ridiculous that we are contractually obliged to put every single player under contract in the squad?

Conversely we could put him the squad and literally never put him in the matchday squad, i have no sympathy for him, he is in the position that he is in entirely because of his attitude and i dont believe city should hold any obligation to help him out, he is a grown man being paid an exorbitant wage to do a job and if his ego and attitude prohibits his ability to do that its not the businesses obligation to help him, could you imagine if any of us decided we didnt want to come to work today because we didnt like the manager or the work the manager was asking us to do we felt that it was beneath us, we wouldnt last the week never mind be helped to find work at another place of our choosing.
