Job in Alaska

Do it mate, apart from the cold, it looks an amazing place. (By the by, even England is too cold for my liking, so don't take my advice for that).

The pay is decent enough, and after having worked in hospitality for years before getting a proper gig, you'll never understand how you lasted so long.

I'd love to challenge myself and move out of my comfort zone like that, you'll kick yourself if you don't take this opportunity.

Helps when you read the whole thread.

Oh well... sex change OP?

It is a place of stunning natural beauty, there is no doubt about it. However I am always wary of 'tight knit' communities and would suspect that incest is rife, ups and downs I suppose.

From what I have heard it is full of bearded, wildmen and rough looking women, none of whom are welcoming to outsiders. Doesn't sound too appealing anymore. Holiday yes, but two years is a long time in a place like that. Ihave just looked at the weather for the next 10 days......31 32 33 33 32 31 36 32 raining raining sleet snowshowers raining raining raining etc. etc.etc.

I think it may be a good thing it is for women only.

How'd you get offered that gig blue? Not sure what to say as far as the move itself, uprooting is a big deal and the shit weather would deffo be a turn off. Then again, 100 degrees with 100% humidity can be a right pain in the arse as well.

Steady job, steady income, government benefits/pension, chance of moving onward/upward would be hard to turn down. You wouldnt have to stay in Alaska forever once you got trained up and some experience under your belt.

And, you can see Russia from Sarah Palin's house ;)

EDIT - just saw the female thing, maybe you could tuck your chap between your legs. We've all done it. I'm doing it right now.
