Joe Hart (joined Torino on season long loan - Official)

Many times last season we criticised Joe's distribution. Pep doesn't like the "long ball" hoof up the field into no-man's land. Joe should recognise that his distribution needs heaps of work and he should be knuckling down to improve it and learning "the Pep way". If he shows the right attitude and application then there will be a place for him with us - if not he'll go - and that saddens me as he has some great qualities that have saved us many, many times.
+1

Obviously the distribution is a major, major factor, but I think some are overlooking Hart's game in general.

For the relatively little that he has to do in some games, Joe can often get caught napping, especially with shots outside of the area, and especially to his left hand side.

When we are up against it, without doubt he has kept us in games. Barcelona for example. But how many of them do we get a season?

He's been a great servant for us, and of course it will be sad to see him go, but I think this has been coming for a while.

Instead of knuckling down and focusing on the obvious weaknesses in his game, it seems that he's just tried to get rid of any manager that has expressed doubts.

It's a shame, but this is football. It's the right decision.

Can we stop referring to things that may or may not have happened that may or may not be covered by legal injunctions.

I've listened to that.....errr.....link,and I never heard Cheeseman slate Joe Hart, but I read a post off you yesterday saying that he said uncomplimentary things about him.......he wouldn't have dared, but if you think that him saying that he has changed since he first came to City is a dig at him, then I think you were trying to make a mountain out of a molehill, and obviously an outer ?

I know that Joe has returned from the Euros and things are not all as they should, certain ITKs might be able to elaborate, I certainly hope Joe is given his opportunity at City under Pep because he is a superior keeper than Willy or Bravo but football is a tough game and maybe the powers that be feel it's time to move on.

I don't see how you can say he is better than Bravo. What are you basing that on?

You clearly didn't listen to it properly then. Cheesy made it quite clear that he didn't like interviewing Hart, that he'd seen a change in him for the worse since he was a young player and that from what he'd seen, he didn't particularly like him as a person. It really could not have been much clearer.

As for my stance on Hart, I've made that clear many times. I believe he's an excellent shot stopper when one-to-one but he has significant weaknesses that he doesn't feel the need or gave the capability to address. But I didn't see replacing him as being a high priority.

I've not watched it back, but it was a very strange 'one half of a friendly'. I was shocked that Joe kicked long even when there were easy passes available. It really was as if he was trying to make a point. Maybe the writing was already on the wall, but Joe (literally) chose the wrong option. If he had played the passing game well - even just for half a friendly - there may have been a call to give him a go. Now it seems, we will not see Joe in our colours again. Very sad.

Yes, those seemed like pivotal moments.

He's had games when he's made a string of amazing saves. Spurs, Dortmund & Barca come to mind. I don't think Bravo could get anywhere near those levels of performances. But I don't suppose Guardiola expects there will be many more games when his keeper will have to make a string of amazing saves. Pep just wants a different type of keeper.

I remember watching one on the Inside City things from last season, Chappy wrapped up his Bentley in wrapping paper and when he saw it he had a face like thunder.

My view on him changed totally..

Basically, you don't know he is better or not then.

Yup I heard him say he didn't like interviewing him, pretty poor comment really, considering he always says how privileged he is to be a City reporter,he's in a position more closer than any of us would ever be,and as a fan that he is I understand it,but as he ever thought some of the players might not like him ?
