Probably only because of lack of options. If Real had bought Courtois as rumored, dyou not think chelsea would of been in for Joe? I do. But then again if my auntie had bollocks etc

Surely, the lack of options says quite a bit.

If a genuine WC player was placed on the open market, there would be many takers I would suspect, irrespective of the current incumbent

I was pretty gutted when we lost Miner to them till I realised it doesn't matter. I won't be surprised if Silva is shown the door next summer. I would be proper gutted like many, but the Samaritans will be busy with some of the drama queens on here if it happened! ; )
True true. There's nowt wrong with feeling the love though. What makes the game stand out to other sports, in invested emotion in the players

Yeah I know, but it's not like a striker becoming available who could be played as a forward two or three or subbed on or off, it's a pretty set position, if, for arguments sake, Joe as I believe is part of the top 5 in the league, why would one of the other top five teams spend £30m+ on a position they're set in, when there's not going to be any noticeable change in skill set. Is there any team outside the top 6 believe they'd attract him, afford his wages etc.
I've woke up hungover and I'm not articulating very well, hope you get my point though!

Find this whole thing bizarre, whenever I've seen Joe training he looks like a great five a side footballer, penalties, passing, shooting etc. I'm convinced he can pick up Pep's way of playing if he stayed and fought.

In any case the way he left the pitch yesterday looked like a goodbye to the fans...

Hart has been one of my favourite players over the years despite me being able to see and admit that he has stagnated over last two seasons, and that he still has too many flaws in his game. Fuck.me, it's as though he plays some games with shampoo in his eyes, and he's not Head and Shoulders above the rest like many claim. ; )... Joe has been mostly unchallenged for us and England over the years.Judging by Joe's body language he seems to have developed a cocky "I'm untouchable" type of arrogance, and if Pep has had words with Joe there's only going to be one winner. I wish Joe well wherever he goes but if we're honest he's not as good a keeper as he should be at his age and experience.

Do you mean pre match warm up or "train" ? Pre match warm up, probably needs a different set of tasks for a keeper, than it does for an outfield player.

If you do mean training, then I'd be interested to know how often you watch training, because the very few clips we get to see show them training together.

I was referring to training - and can only refer to a few years back at Carrington but there the keepers spent long periods together away from the main squad doing their own drills and joined the main group just for matches and set pieces. I have no idea if Pep has changed this because you can't really watch training anymore.

I agree with you regarding Joe's Stature in the league and my point was probably more aimed at those who continually purport him to be WC.

Whatever, we are on a journey with pep that should see improvement all over the park either through new faces or renewed passion and skills from those remaining.

Good times ahead

If that is the case, then it must surely be down to attitude or other external reasons

Maybe, but I'm one of those parents who'd say their kids third ear is cute and endearing.

Very good times, especially with the Pep song!!

It's surprised me too. I have heard claims that he has struggled with training ground drills moving the ball from one foot to the other, but is that true? I don't know. Maybe he knows that he can get one of the Barca keepers and knowing that he has decided to get them in.
