I do find it rather telling that not one big team has come in for Hart since it was made clear Joe can leave. Barca, for example, would rather have Ajax's keeper than Joe.

If Neuer was suddenly to become available, would there be a similar lack of interest? I'd suspect not.
Thus is true, but most of the big teams in England and in Europe have a top keeper already, it must be gutting for Joe this situation, I don't think he deserves it, do I understand it, yes.

We have/had a top keeper already too but it didn't stop Pep going for Bravo.

Which "big" clubs apart from us are in the market for a new keeper think most of them will be sorted at this point of a new season, can't think of one over here that hasn't good a keeper that Hart would be that much of an improvement on that they'd fancy spending £25 million.Hart will attract interest but as usual clubs will want to get him on the cheap off us.

No, wrong again. De Gea is arguably better than Neuer at the moment (Buffon, for me, is still the top man), but he (De Gea) made three big mistakes in two games at the Euros (I watched most of the games) - barely a comment from anyone other than Hoddle. Hart concedes two goals he would normally keep out and there's a witch hunt. I hear pundits talking quite a lot about about Neuer's twenty clean sheets for Bayern last season. Given that statistically, he faces fewer shots than any other GK in the BL, how much of an achievement is that ? That said, he can do no more than deal with the shots that come his way. Why is it unfair to compare Hart's international clean sheet record with Neuer's ? Yes, Germany go deeper into tournaments and play the better teams in the last four, but their defence and midfield is vastly superior to England's. To me, there's a lot of criticism of Hart's ability, but when you drill down through the stats his record is exceptional - no fluke.
Great post.
Although some om here think Joe's an average keeper, he isn't, he's a very good keeper..The issue isn't his keeping ability it's his ability to play as a sweeper keeper.
I'm actually pretty sure he could do this given time. But Pep and Joe haven't got time. Pep can't wait 6 months - we will loose too many points against good sides. Joe can't be out of the first team or his England place is under threat.

We all know Joe's strengths and his weaknesses - the problem is Joe doesn't seem to think his weaknesses are a problem he also knew Pep was coming and hasn't even made an effort to adapt to his style of play. That is the ultimate criticism, Willy isn't a great passer but he has at least attempted to do what Pep has asked of him. Joe is no different from Nasri / Yaya they are good players but not in the mold of what Pep wants.

All these people moaning just need to consider the bigger picture - do you want Pep and what he brings to the table good and bad or do you want players with an attitude similar to last season?

Hart is a good goalie but that's about it,The lack of interest says it all really..

For those posters who say the other Prem clubs don't need a new keeper, just look at the names..

If you had been asked the same question last season, then it would have been thought that Hart was better than most of them..

It will be interesting to see what will happen if he stays, will he try and fight for his place by improving his game or will he sulk?

The thing is nobody is really in the market for anything unless said player is available. Madrid is not in the market for another attacker. But what if Neymar is available? You can bet Madrid will be all over that. If there's a player available and said player will be an improvement over your player, they will be on the market. It's just a matter of comparing your talent and the available talent. Most clubs have their own established GK, so they're not in the market.... that is until a better GK is available. Case in point : our very own club.

I disagree.

Hart is world-class when on form, but is subject to streaks of inconsistency - he's currently, in one of his bad streaks.

For me, when Hart and all other keepers are on form in the BPL, it's:

De Gea
Coutois
Lloris
Chec
Hart

The order above is somewhat deceiving.... in that the BPL has many of the top, top keepers in the world.

When on form, Hart is top 10 in the world, IMO. Currently, he's not on form and thus will drop quite a bit in terms of value in the eyes of clubs possibly willing to sign a new keeper.

Best move for City IMO - loan Hart - let him reprove his value. And sign him in the winter window or in next year's window when his form is evidently world class.

You're ignoring the fact that he'd cost them a fair wedge plus the wages. Realistically who from the top clubs in England is in a position where this would be a sound investment for them?

I'd wager had this happened last summer then both Arsenal and Liverpool would definitely be circling.
