His form is simply incredible right now. He had a dodgy spell earlier in the season where he gifted 3 or 4 goals away through poor parrying, but he has come through that fantastically well. Most impressive has been his saves in 1 on 1 situations. The save today was the best by a mile, as it's his first meaningful touch of the game deep into the 2nd half and required a high level of concentration to pull it off. Victor Valdes does it every game for Barca - he knows he is only going to have 1 shot to save every match, but is always ready when it arrives. In many ways, to be a goalkeeper in a top team, concentration is a more important attribute than shot-stopping or handling and it's so pleasing to see Joe displaying the qualities that are required at such a young age. I can fully understand why Neville felt that save alone was worthy of the man of the match award tonight.

Top class, Joe.

Good point. He is bossing strikers at the moment, and the weak ones are starting to fear him a bit I think (the good ones never fear a goalie, sadly).

There isn't anyone else in world goalkeepery that I'd swap Joe for. IMMENSE!

He's not even near his prime yet. He could still have 15 years at this level for us. And he's improving all the time. There isn't a part of his game that isn't improving in some way.

Brilliant keeper and commands his area really well..... Just wish he worked on his distribution a bit better..
Don't think his distribution is ever going to be world class; he hasn't really improved that aspect of his game at all in the time he's been with us. Still; if he keeps coming up with vital saves like the one tonight, we'll be able to work around his lack of passing ability. Best 'keeper in the league at the moment.

Wouldn't swap him for any keeper in the world. Just imagine how good he can become in five years time or so.
We are very lucky to have him.

over the last few weeks, the number of one on ones hes saved is outstanding. I'm loath to say it but hes as commanding for us as Schmeichel was for them. Those saves win us trophys as much as our strikers goals

He has and it's clear to see.

His throwing is more accurate and he can throw further (at one point he never threw it out!). He has better awareness of the pitch and where players are. His kicking out of hand is getting better, it's infinitely more accurate than it used to be. His kicking from the floor is reaching ten feet further than even this time last year. His left foot is getting better.

There's room for improvement, yes, but it's clear to see he's working on it and it is improving all the time.
