Joe Mercer Way

Thought this would benefit the people who don't get to see CoMS only on match days (one of the advantages of living locally I suppose?)

Anyway, I passed the stadium earlier going up Alan Turing Way and then onto Briscoe Lane and I must say Joe Mercer Way looks absolutely incredible. From what I could see the only thing that has changed is the colour, an incredible SKY BLUE!!!
It looks bloody amazing.

I also nipped into the Club Shop and whilst nothing has really been built there yet, there are shells going up for outhouse buildings and lots of holes and new bollards are in place.

It's pretty much a building site, but I was very impressed with how quick things are moving on site.

Last week Joe Mercer Way was it's normal drab colour, this week, it's a sea of City Blue.

Amazing. I love our owners and I love my club even more with every passing day. C.T.I.D.

On my iPhone so bare with me...
As you look at the front of the shop with the stadium behind you, ther is going to be a screen up eitherside, to the left a cafe with seating area etc, the right wil house two bars with toilets at the back of the square. The right will also house a kids soft play area and tbd whole area will be covered by a tent like feature, this is what the holes are for! (the struts to hold it up). As you look at the ground there is a huge n I mean huge screen going up and stage under it so we can have livf bands on a match day. The painted floor will continue to the shop where it stops and several other sections will be painted too, including a circle of blue around the shop with a maroon n White scarf effect similar to the inside of the new home shirt! All will be complete for the 7th against Valencia along with live bands and a shirt launch. If your around Monday pop and say hello I'll be working there.

The pod things that are being built at the back of the shop are the toilets. Theres a lot of piling going on around the back too. The retail units are from what I have seen just prefabs which willl have food d drink ect. They started doing the foundations on Friday outside the old ticket office for the big screen thats going up. Have heard that the tarmac at the back of the shop will be painted the same as mercer way but will have to wait and see for that one.

the brick buildings to the right of the shop are loos the one on the left is a cafe area, to the right the two prefab containers are bars which will be coverd in cladding. The paint job does go to the shop but then changes to resemble the maroon and White scarf.... Holes as I said above are to take the pilons that will hold the tent up over the area. The soft play area is a good idea I thought too. I'm Back threre tomorrow myself working on the job.
The work inside is top notch too but most will never see it! Changing rooms, boxes and refs area.

The blue along Joe Mercer way will then turn into a wavy scarf and lead to the stadium, a canopy will also be erected from the shop to the ticket office. All new bollards to stop parking along the right are in place now.
