He seems to have come from nowhere and he's too old to be an overnight sensation so I reckon he's probably come up through the northern circuits and working mens clubs and hasnt got his break from knowing the right people.

Yeh he lives in Manchester...been to his house a fair few times. (Fog Lane, if there's any stalkers out there)

My claim to fame is I was good mates with his son (still am sort of) so John Bishop used to take me back from football training and stuff, suppose I know him quite well but he never seemed that funny.

Having said that I don't think I would have understood any of his humour when I was 11/12.
