John Bond 1932-2012

was a teenager and regular on the kippax in those days - saw the team revitalised from a very low ebb in front of my very eyes in a matter of months - the guy was a legend - we all sang with true affection 'John Bond we love you ...' - the team he created was phenonemal and not only the players but the fans suddenly had belief like never before.

Very few managers like him in football now - similar to Shanks in my opnion.

I feel lucky I was able to watch City week in week out during the 1978-1982 period - the game has never been the same since.

Anyway - many many thanks John, RIP and my condolences to your family

Sad to here this. Fond memories of JB and the team from then, had some good times, tho cried when we got beat 3-2 in the '81 replay...

RIP John

RIP John, I went to every round of your famous cup run except Peterborough Utd away when Tommy Booth scored the only goal. Your signings of Tommy Hutch, Bobby Mac and Gerry Gow was a master stroke and a work of genius !

The last great City team prior to the current lot was the team that Bondy moulded in 81.

So unlucky not to win the Cup and I really thought he was taking us places.

A larger than life character and a good man.

Let's hear it at Fulham.........

John Bond we love you, John Bond we do,
Though you may be far away we still love you
And one day when we're Champions we'll look back and say
There's no one quite like John Bond who has set us on our way

RIP John
