that 80-81 season was epic, starting so poor and almost finnishing brilliantly, those cup-runs were awesome, the fans celebrating at peterboro and everton were the best ive ever witnessed even to this day, thank you big man.

this

was at the peterbroro game and at one stage thought here we go again - but best game for me was Everton away packed like sardines behind the goal and seeing Paul Powers goal take for ever to go in to get the draw - oh the memories

I've written a 3 page obituary which, all being well, should be in the CL prog this week. Rather than quote lots of different people I decided to use John's own words from interviews I've performed with him over the years.

I'd always prefer to read the deceased's views in these situations.

Hope it reads well and an appropriate tribute.

Nice one Gary, look forward to reading that................Sean

heard the news last week while in Benidorm. All I can say is John was the unluckiest manager we have ever had,LC S/F robbed by the referee Alf Bond. And we know what happened in the Cup Final.RIP John Bond, one of my favourite managers City have had since watching them from 1969.A legend you will always be in my tear filling eyes.

I can't remember as much about the game itself. Any other memories of it, Tbilisi?

Yeah the 80s was a bit dodgy. To be fair to May he could play a bit pariculalry at full back and he was no wuss! He scored that great header between angle of bar and post v Charlton in 85.

Sure we had TV cameras there that day

in that case, is this it?
