One of the great British writers, I've read Tinker Tailor several times. And others.
What a shitty year.

Love his books and his life story, which I read recently, is an interesting one. RIP John.

One of his sons (Nick Harkaway) is at least carrying on his father's legacy as an author though he writes vastly different books all of which I have enjoyed immensely.

Never enjoyed his first In From The Cold, but enjoyed everything I’ve ever read of his after that. If it was down to Cold War espionage I’d personally take Len Deighton and his Bernard Samson books, (and Harry Palmer), but Le Carre had greater scope - Constant Gardener was a great read (and movie) too.
