RIP, remember his reports from Cambodia after the Khmer Rouge butchered anyone who were not considered as “communists”, Doctors, business owners, professionals, etc. it was a brutal place and Pilger told the story most were unaware off.Top fella.John Pilger: Campaigning Australian journalist dies

Great journalist, you don’t have to agree with all his views to appreciate he was a brilliant man who told it as he saw it.

He worked for many years as a newspaper journalist for The Daily Mirror when he first arrived in the UK. I think it's correct to say it was the highest selling daily in Europe at that time. This was before Maxwell got his grubby hands on it and John decided to seek pastures new.
To think of his integrity and bravery shining a light on worldwide injustices throughout his career, makes one sad for what journalism has largely become.

Read all his books as a 18 year old, trying to understand the world and make sense of events in the 20th century. From Cambodia to East Timor to Diego Garcia he made me aware of events around the world, the suffering everyday people have suffered and how politics and those in power have created these situations.
A huge loss to humanity and to his chosen profession as a journalist, a proper journalist. RIP to a true great.

Influenced me a lot in my youth,shaping my world character and view.Funny how life turns out.I remember being horrified and shocked at what happened in Laos,many years later my wife's maternal side are from Laos.
