Thought he was okay yesterday, badly let down by Walker playing their guy onside for the 2nd goal when Stones was holding the line well and of course, Ota's brain fart for the 3rd goal. You can clearly see Stones telling Ota to give it back to the GK and Ota just dallies.

He looks totally berift of confidence, he was woeful for England in the summer, he was awful yesterday, needs to get his head right, we need him to step up to the plate and be counted, show some hunger and desire, become a leader coz that whole back 4 yesterday were shocking.

He was the best of a bad bunch...BY FAR...so wind it in a bit!

Hopefully Pep can instill the belief in him . If Stones can become what Pep believes he is capable of, then it will be a massive bonus in the defensive situation we are in.

Agree...but we can’t keep saying this year after year without him really delivering.

Maybe it is a case of him having to deliver now the pressure is on or he finds himself being moved on.

At age 25 ( ? ) and 3 years with Pep, he should know what is expected of him and failure to achieve that could see patience finally being lost in him and his replacement sought.

I thought he was fine n’all.

Let down by Walker while Stones and Otamendi tried to play Norwich offside. I think Stones was communicating with Otamendi to keep in line and see Pukki run off but Walker was looking across the whole line and didn’t read what was happening and it was 2-0.

For the pass to Otamendi, there was nothing wrong with it. It was directly at Otamendi who didn’t have to move to control it, it was fast enough so he wasn’t stood waiting for it, it’s just that Otamendi wasn’t concentrating.

In the first half Stones was bringing the ball into midfield and starting attacks while Rodri was quiet.

He had a decent game for a first game after injury. Not great and isn’t fully in rhythm yet and looked a bit uncomfortable when pressured on the ball but he did fine. We’ve seen how coming back from injury affects some of our other players’ performances (Kun especially) so for Stones yesterday that was a good base to start from.

No real improvement since he's been here and injury prone. He never seems to be able to play 2 or 3 games before getting injured again.

Pep will have to stick with him while Laporte is out because dropping him for Fernandinho would destroy his confidence.

His form will improve over the next few months the more he plays but I get the feeling this could be his last season at the club unless there's significant progression in his game.
