That moment when Aubameyang thought he could run John to the byline but Stones matched him stride-for-stride before going shoulder-to-shoulder and leaving Aubameyang in a heap off the field was the hallmark of a man playing at the peak of his powers. Oozing confidence and such a classy defender

He would have been on his arse a year ago or still backing off long after a goal was scored , john 2.0 is amazing

That shoulder barge on aubameyang sending him into the dirt after matching him stride for stride without looking like he was even trying was majestic. People used to say he gets bullied too easily...

All I could think when he did that was back to a few years ago when Falcao bullied him and scored against us in that crazy game.

Aubameyang is no lump but he can normally handle himself in physical battles but John dealt with him.

I think Dias was the catalyst for the turn around, but it would be disrespectful to Stones now to say that Dias is the only reason he is still playing so well. He's been comfortably the better centre half of the two in quite a few games of late, whether partnered with Dias or Laporte.

The lad is a star.

In fairness, there were signs of the old Stones in the Wolves game at the start of the season. He was imperious in the first half.

The best defender in the country at the moment, has everything in his game , composure , bringing the ball out , incisive passing through the lines, great in the air, hes also added physicality this so bullies people

im praying he keeps it going until the end of the season
