I remember when he crunched a player from behind, blatant yellow if not a red (can't remember who it was against but I think it was last season) and only a free kick was given, and the commentators just laughed it off 'oh typical Scholesy' shit, anyone else and it would have been branded a horror tackle or something along those lines.

Deserved to be severely punished for that, but again in real time and from the refs position it just looks like 2 players clashing for the ball ... look at the crowd in the background, no one saw how bad it was, there's no uproar - refs have no chance in today's world, might aswell use technology to ref as incidents likes this will happen forever.
