how do you know its us dragging our heels, in fact what the fuck are you talking about, who has said they only want players to think we are the only worthwhile club , who has said any of what you wrote, has this thing been going on long inside your head ,
Shh, let him and the rest of them stand on their soap-box declaring us fools for a hypothetical situation of their creation.
If you don't the transfer forum would be nothing but information about transfers, and we DO NOT want that.

How is he a coat turner? We made him an offer, he said "sure that sounds good, complete a deal with Napoli and I'll come". If we can't complete said deal what's he supposed to do? Just wait forever? He's not a City supporter like we are, he's a footballer who is looking for a transfer. This idea that we'll make an approach for a player and expect them to be 100% ironclad committed to the club, before we've even signed them, is totally unrealistic.

Quite relaxed actually, we'll probably still get him but if we don't we'll get the next one. No big deal

The problem you have is that you seem to think that Napoli hold the cards when in fact Jorginho does. If he wants to come here he will come here (see Sterling, Stones, Dinho). If he doesn't care between us and Chelsea, he will probably go to the highest bidder (Chelsea).

Why is anyone having a go at the player? He is owned by Napoli, its purely down to them whether they sell him or not, and for how much and to whom.

But they better get a move on, only 4 weeks of window left.

Because we understand the player holds all the power in situations like this?

It's not even about money. These players are making massive life decision which involve uprooting their families and moving to a new country with few/no friends.

If you fuck about too much and leave people with so much of their life up in the air for weeks on end, sometimes they're going to grab onto a concrete solid offer even if it only offers 90% of what the dream move did.

I appreciate Txiki and Soriano trying to be firm negotiators and not have the club taken advantage of - it's a very important part of the transformation they seem to be trying to make from nouveau riche "throw money at the wall until it sticks" to part of the established and very wealthy elite, but at the same time while we're doing that, leaving players waiting while we haggle over a few million or so does leave us vulnerable to a player doubting how serious you're taking things and someone else undercutting you.

It's a very fine balance they have to strike and we might lose a couple of players over it - doesn't necessarily mean the players are greedy or Begiristain and Soriano are incompetent.
Not sure about your first point surely the modern professional footballer must in theory at least be prepared to up camp and go where ever the work is. If we lose this guy to Chelsea that will be the third target missed in under 12 months for what seems to be principle at this stage. I can only guess that we are not really 110% interested in these targets or surely we would go the extra mile or as it were the extra 10 or 15 million. If we really needed/wanted both our current targets surely these deals could have be done quickly and if we over spent by say 30 million we then set about balancing the books. The danger will be if these deals fall through we will get nobody or worse buy a couple of donkeys before the 9th of August. Alternatively there may be other moves on the cards which we no nothing about and we are playing a waiting game. Who knows.

Read a few headlines re: "Pjanic if Jorginho falls through", any legs whatsoever or just click bait...
Doubt it mate. If we had any hope whatsoever of signing Pjanic then I'm almost certain we would've been looking at him long before Jorginho.

I think Pjanic has played a more advanced role than Jorginho, and we're pretty stacked with Silva x2 & KDB. He could of course moved back, but I think you'd get less from him if you did. I read that Jorgino has more successful passes than anyone in the top 5 leagues, which is crazy if true. I personally think we need more of a Fernandinho replacement/back-up than a playmaker, as we don't have any problem recycling the ball and make a ridiculous number of passes, but we only have 1 truly combative midfielder.
