Jorginho

The perfect pivote for Pep Guardiola. His positional play in that position is the best I have arguably ever seen to the nth degree, in terms of body positioning and shoulder feints and one touch especially with the vertical pass. It's almost cheating that he is going to Manchester City and playing under Pep.
Better than Busi? How would you compare them?

What's a vertical pass?

Forward pass that progresses play. Think of a pass along the Y-axis when the lines are extremely tight.

At this present moment in time Jorghino is the most positionally accurate midfielder in Europe in all aspects, out of possession in possession.

He is superior to Busquets at playing passes between the lines and final passes, which will give City an extra dimension in attack where they don't always have to look for Kevin de Bruyne to initiate in the final third. He also doesn't get caught out as much as Busquets has the propensity to over play then look for a foul which usually can put the back line under pressure.

Busquets positional play has been declining for a long time but that has a lot to do with playing alongside Rakitic and Paulinho who need multiple touches to progress play and have terrible positional awareness.

Better. His anticipation of danger is as good as Kante and attacking wise he is very much Nappoli's quarter back. The chip over the top of a pressing defence to feet or down the channels are his signature moves. His chips over the top of a deep defence are pretty good too. Tactics that would cause Liverpool all sorts of bother. He wouldn't need much time to adjust either as Napolli's system is so similar to ours.
Don't be using wierd American words my friend. No one wants that :p

It must feel good to run down City players!
Bravo did not become a bad keeper overnight. He came to play in a team which played a high line and when the defence was not up to the required standard. Add to that the hysteria surrounding Hart going (whatever happened to him) and any keeper would have had a bad time. Whatever you think of him, it is my opinion that we would not have won the Carabao cup without his brilliant penalty saves. He has always acted well towards City and deserves better treatment from some so called fans.
you do realize Hart and half that defense you just ran down are city players also? I too dislike pulling city players down they all try but some are just not good enough in Bravo`s case both Gunn and Hart are better, and i want Gunn back, I do not blame Bravo for the Wigan goal that was Walker falling asleep and the goal he conceded in the league is not his fault either but Ederson would have stopped that because he is faster, as for Bravo`s penalty saves ` his forte` he is not the first is he?

Perfectly said mate, great post. We have some numpties who take pleasure in slagging players off with childish comments about them

mate, we all acknowledge that some players are not good enough, but that can be expressed in a non condescending manner dont you think. Some take pleasure in taking the piss at the expense of players and that is what his gripe was, and I agreed with him

As for your claim of Eddie saving the shots Bravo didn't - that is just your speculative thoughts as it cannot ever be proven as any claim that had Eddie played, he would have shipped more

hmm... not really comparable. i had to google "flat white"

I asked for a "coffee" the other day and was met with blank stares and everyone in the shop looking at me like i was stupid!

Silly me.

Have you heard of two chaps called David Silva and Fernandinho?

Fernandinho's passing is not on the same level and if you believe so I'm not arguing with you. Especially when the lines get tighter. His main strengths are that he allows City to win aerial balls and second balls in the midfield which Pep Guardiola identified as a problem in his first season.

I was only criticising your opinion that he would improve our passing. Although he's very good he won't inprove our passing on the ground. His one passing attribute that we don't really do (chipped passes) will, however, help us defeat Liverpool and give us another option to break bus-parked defences.
As you have alluded to, It's his defensive attributes that will improve us the most - especially his anticipation and closing down that IMO are on a par with Kante.

We definitely need someone who can do chipped passes - the only person in the City team that used to try and really do this with any sort of frequency was Yaya

Thanks for the patronising lesson in how to be a City fan. It was a tongue in cheek comment after a few drinks. Perhaps you should try lightening up. You sound a right bunch of laughs. Perhaps I should get a ban for introducing a bit of humour.

Jorginho's passing/decision-making in tight spaces under pressure is on a different level though. Dinho's been the weakest link in midfield in both games at Anfield this season, the guy crumbles under pressure. It's the most obvious area of possible improvement.

As for 'chipped passes', you're judging Jorginho by highlights if you think it's his specific trait. Chipped passes to onrushing forwards is Sarri's trademark move, literally all Napoli's mids and attackers execute them.

How does he compare to weigl? Not seen enough of either but thought Weigl was said to be the carbon copy of busquets and peps ideal player at one point
