José Gayà

Angelino looks like he could be on course to make it with us but we drastically over rate our academy players on here. Gaya is 19 playing first team football for one of the best teams in Spain and impressing everybody. Angelino is nowhere near that level yet, Not going in for him, especially at the price he's potentially available at on the basis that one of our academy player might have a chance of being that good in a few years is just retarded.

I hadn't watched a lot of this kid, but did so yesterday by cruising Youtube and readign up on him.

He looks insanely good, particularly considering his age, and if we are not seriously interested in him... I'm honestly quite baffled.

Real Madrid want him and they'll probably get him now.
What will they do with Marcelo?

Surely Gaya won't be happy as a backup because he's not beating out Marcelo
Rotate them?
They do it with Arbeloa and Carvajal.

New reports emerging stating we will make an effort to sign him next summer, fee apparently in excess of £45m

Has anyone seen him in action? Is he up to the standard we require?

Mangala could be included in the deal which might make it favorable.

Recent form? He's done fuck all. Hope we're not taking someone from Valencia again purely because they can't sort out a fee for one of ours.

Looked handy against Barca and made a great assist for Munir's goal.

Rapid and technical. Not sure he's as sound defensively, but then I'm not sure Pep cares anyway!!

Got all the tools to be a great attacking fullback but his progress has been stalled by the shit show at Valencia. He did very well under Nuno, who was the only competent manager they've had in the past few years and the only one to be there more than about 3 months. By all accounts he's improved again under Voro, the long time caretaker. He could well thrive with a bit of consistency, no defender does well when being messed around

He is very short though, 5 feet 6 inches. We already will be going to have a short front 5-6 bar Sane, who's even though 6 feet tall but is still weak aerially. How are we going to defend corners and set pieces, is my concern.
