Manchester City close in on Sevilla's Spanish youth international Jose Maria Amo

José María Amo
Spain
Club Sevilla
Position Defender
Born 9 April 1998

A central defender whose surname brilliantly translates as 'Master', making him a headline writer’s dream in waiting, Amo is comfortable playing the ball out from the back.
Invariably well-positioned, strong and good in the air, he was called into the Spain Under-19 team despite being a year younger than most – making him one of only three players from the Under-17s to be brought up a level.
He is in his second year with Sevilla’s Juvenil side and played in their opening Uefa Youth League game, but he spent pre-season with Sevilla Atlético, the club’s B team who play in the third tier, and has been drafted into their matchday squad twice.
His boyhood idol was Carles Puyol and he admires Sergio Ramos too.
He also admits that had he not been a footballer he would have liked to be a bullfighter. In Sevilla, they say he could have been pretty good at that too. Sid Lowe @sidlowe

I'm out. I need Amo.

Something I must have said a thousand times as a kid running around with a hurley stick as my semi-automatic ...:-)

Tony, I thought that your hurley was never out of ammo and that you had an endless supply. Well mine always had anyway...;)

Even as a kid I was a drama queen seeing problems where none existed. :-)
