Romano saying on his youtube Channel that he is a player that we internally like, but it would take a huge offer
 
If we are to replace either Stones, Laporte or Dias then he would be my pick and that would justify paying that amount for a defender. The only downside RB Leipzig doesn't really need to sell this season.

Heard he's a good left back too, doesn't look it from his build but maybe if cucurrlla is stalling at £40m and with Ake going and bringing in a similar fee, someone at city has thought 'sod it get gvardiol at £70m' and he covers both Ake going and left back?

True, but even simpler than that, we would be signing a player to br one of 4 players for 2 positions. They would be expected to play, like any player in any position in the squad, apart from keeper maybe, would. And players would see that, and back themselves as such as well.
 
Excellent player for now and the future! Timber from the Ajax as well, both top quality if one could be convinced about a long term career here.

People need to get over this 4th choice bollocks

We have 4 center backs, the best 2 at the time regarding form and fitness that fit the game plan will play

Ake didn't quite his the ground running and was carrying an injury at season end, if he started in the form he showed towards the end he wouldn't have been 4th choice

If we bring anyone in it won't be for them to sit on the bench, it will be to focus stones dias Laporte on their game and offer competition
