Juanma Lillo leaves to become Al-Sadd Head Coach

Unfortunately it won't be Kompany - he'd have been a great assistant IMO.

I would love Xavi as Pep's next assistant. I think he is a natural and they share the same perspective of the game. And selfishly, it would be so great for Xavi to have a daily masterclass with Pep for when he comes to train FC Barcelona :) But Xavi has a contract as first coach... so then I think a good optión for Pep's next assistant could be Robert Moreno.

Possibly, but Pep also has a huge support network who can pick up the phone to practically anybody, so it is not beyond the realms that someone of suitable talent is out there who would jump at the chance to work alongside him as his assistant.

True, but do you want to just drop someone into the middle of the season? Making a brand new person second in command could just confuse things, plus I think Pep's quite particular about his staff and it's not a given that the person he wants is free tomorrow. I wouldn't even be surprised if someone joined in a month's time, and the club just say they weren't planning on it but someone popped up.

Personally I think Xabi Alonso, Xavi, maybe Zaba, maybe Vinny will come in July.

Xabi and Vinny are at their hometown clubs and are the kind of people who take their honour and reputation seriously so I can really see them saying, not now but in the summer.

Xavi needs a stepping stone job from Al Sadd. Zaba is the kind of person I can see the club bringing in to replace Kiddo, maybe not Pep's #2.

Even if Torrent wants to continue as a head coach, he might be willing to come back and see out this season with Pep. Would be pur safest bet, considering a whole new assistant manager probably is a huge change for the players and surely can be distracting if we make the wrong choise

Yep. City don't really have a firm succession plan in place, by that I mean, Pep can obviously stay for as long as he wants, as far as Khaldoon is concerned.

However, they really do like Pochettino, who knows this also. It would not surprise me if City have paid him a significant retainer sum to not commit to another job until next summer.

It is becoming more and more common place. United paid Mourinho £4m to wait it out until they could sack van Gaal at the end of that season.

Nice money, as he could keep it if United went elsewhere or kept Van Gaal.

My own view is that many have fallen into the thinking that it has to be someone who will essentially be a carbon copy of Guardiola's vision for football?

I don't see it that way. Pep is a one-off for a reason. We have to think about who can continue to give us success, coupled with a decent tactical set-up.

Pochettino and Rodgers are the only two managers I would trust at this present time.

Pep is my guy, love him to bits, we will never see his like again. We must avoid the trap United and Arsenal allowed to happen, however, letting two men become bigger than their actual club, regardless of their fans claiming otherwise.
I think Pep is already perceived as bigger than City

zabba isn't a coach ,so why the fuck would we want him coaching our first team ? maybe if he gets his coaching badges and proves to be an amazing coach then yes,i can see what vinny would bring to us but again he needs to bring top quality coaching and he hasn't had chance to prove that yet , i wouldn't give a shit if we got someone from united as long as they were a world class coach and would help improve us.

Totally agree with this, when Pep goes we don't want a not as good clone, to play the way Pep wants requires Pep, we have to look at keeping our attacking style going, but there are other ways to do that, so we need to find a different way to do it.
