Jude Bellingham

I wouldn't agree with that at all. He played in a midfield with Rice and Henderson for the majority of the WC and last night had Rice and Phillips. His job isn't a defensive one. He's there to receive the ball in more attacking space. For Dortmund he's always looking to find little pockets and on the turn can then make things happen, it's a major strength to his game. He's strong and long limbed so even if his touch is bad he often still keeps the ball and then is running at the opposition. With Haaland ahead of him he'll be much more dangerous than with someone like Kane who is often looking to be in that space as well.

We've played Dortmund a few times and Bellingham has been their best player in almost all of those games. He's been an attacking threat and he's also been at the back putting in tackles and defending.

He's much more likely to move into space to score or provide an assist than be the one controlling the tempo of a game, but I still believe he can be moulded into whatever we specifically need. It's much easier to learn to keep the ball and find others in space than it is to learn to turn and spin past players before carrying the ball and creating a chance.

It's a bit like Kev's form recently. Pep just reminded him to do the simple things first, and funnily enough he did and then the through balls and assists came again.
your point actually is proving the point of the other user. You compare him to KDB and that is exactly who he is, a KDB type player. we cannot play both of them in the same team. Bellingham is a 10 and never was a 8 who can control a game. we need a kovacic or mcallister type midfielder as the gundo replacement more than we need bellingham.

Kids born in any era have grown up with City as a "big club" kids born in the last 15 years have grown up with City as a colossal club
I had a conversation about this years ago. City fans & attendance stats had City pegged as a big club. But most fans I came across had us on level pegging with Everton, Norwich & Coventry City.

It's why the Rags always derided us when we spoke about ourselves in the same breath as them. They saw us as deluded jokers. This is why our rise hurts the Rags, Dippers & L'Arse fans so much.

My season ticket Spurs family in London somehow believe they're also historically a bigger club than City, & we're only ahead of them now because we're FFP cheats... :-/

No chance LFC can compete on or the pitch with City or RM. Hope we get him.

what is this bullshit with the numbers. Players have squad numbers now, so it cant be where they play on the pitch.
Bellingham is a 10 ? box to box. But King Colin wore 8. So who dreamt up this unfathomable nonsense. Was Aguero box to box, or did he wear the wrong shirt?

Looks like you were always picked as a 12 at school! ;)

This was a conversation with fans from various clubs back in the 90s. It's the first time I'd ever considered how other fans saw us & it was sobering.

We were bobbing up & down the divisions, but still referring to ourselves as equals to ManUre, Arsenal & the Dippers etc. However their fans saw us as the equivalent of a Norwich or Coventry et al. Everton were withdrawn from the comparison after 4 of them agreed the Toffees were a bigger club under Kendall than we were.

How City fans view Manchester City is totally different to how opposition fans view us. This is further evidenced by the way the 'Istree' clubs sneer at our recent achievements which they say are tainted, because we're an oil money club who cheat.

Another mate of of mine who's a home & away going season ticket (as it was back then) holder was miffed after a post match conversation with some QPR fans, who were lamenting the attitude of the big clubs, toward smaller clubs like City & them.

My mate was aghast that QPR thought our clubs were of a similar level, but again this is our perception of City vs those of others... \0/
