I go to watch musicians and bands for entertainment just like I would go to football for entertainment. I like discussing music just like I love discussing football.

Football is a job for the players and entertainment for the people that watch it.

The natural progression is a European League. We will see one in the next 10-15 years I reckon. The gaps in class between top and bottom in each of the top leagues are much vaster than between the top few teams in each country.

Is that not the Champions League?

No, an actual league. The gap in quality between the top sides in England and those lower down the PL is insurmountable. There is a much smaller gap between 7th downward in the PL and the Championship. The same gaps are evident in other leagues. Surely the solution to keep competitivity and keep up the interest levels in the support is to pit the best of the best in a league, running right through the season? With playoffs at the end for maximum revenue / excitement.
