Just For Once, Can The Club Cut The Cheese On Sunday, Please

Can’t see the weekend changing much, it will be the same as usual, but going forward there is an opportunity, all the club has to do is bring the playlist forward five minutes & change BM to a more traditional version, then fade it out at kick off for the supporters to belt out instead of the ghastly sped up part killing the atmosphere, it will potentially get people in their seats a bit earlier too, how many people hear a certain song & head to their seat.

Everybody would be kicking off if the bars shut early
Not in time for Sunday but there’s trials pending for drinking at your seat, let’s hope the club are on board, starting with cup holders on our rail seats :) there’s one chance for football to get it right, eff it up & it’ll be another generation before it even gets considered again, I hope they’re looking at the cricket, I love those 4 pint carry bags!

If the 75min leaver old farts can’t be up for this game then its time to euthanise the fucking old cunts and replace them with ratty chavs who will at least have a go.
Logans Run, motherfuckers. Sing, shout or fuck off
Mate, it's not just the old farts though, all ages in EL3 get itchy arses at 75 mins and start to get up to leave.

Think it will be different on Sunday though......

Would be lovely if you could drink at your seat, no more missing 10 mins to get a drink at half time. However the trial would last one match , due to the knobs who think it's a good idea to launch a pint after each goal.

Back to Sunday, I hope they don't close the bars early, we all show support in diff ways. I get to my seat less than 5 mins before kick off, but I make more noise in 5 mins than those around me do in 90.

Yeah, wouldn’t want a situation like German football & end up behind those giant nets, fwiw our fans are not that close to the pitch and don’t sit above away fans (most matches) so that limits the potential for any BS….bet you feel like Del Boy & Rodney piling into the wake dressed as Batman & Robin :)

I've been thinking about this, if I had been asked an opinion I would have been hard pressed to say it is a good idea to have beer at the seats because I wouldn't want what I saw happening at the outdoor England matches with beer flying everywhere. At the same time I wouldn't want people deprived of enjoyment. Especially as they do it successfully at other venues. So I had a good think about it and came up with well if they are in bottles similar to the water bottles with a lid on that can't be taken off easily?
Sounds a bit simple that and I'm sure that because people like their beer freshly 'pulled' probably not feasible but we do need a solution.

I don’t think their will be silence this time. Was there silence last time? Close the bars a bit earlier. Tell the fans the teams are coming out with a short tannoy announcement. And leave it to the fans.
You mean public address system, Tannoy is a brand name ;-)

No chance whatsoever of that solution, EB. Beer is not allowed so it can't be thrown. A bottle is oven more dangerous.

It's a daft, outdated law but not one they seem in a hurry to change. From my point of view, if they want to charge us as customers they should treat us as customers.

I’m used to drinking when watching RL matches. It works fine, apart from at the Grand Final. Which is the RL match is that most like a PL football match in terms of the crowd dynamics.

At most RL matches it’s easy to get a pint without disturbing your neighbours. Grounds are not usually full, there’s space to move around. Those who like a drink are often stood, so dont require people to stand up to allow them to go for a drink.

The Grand Final is different. It’s seated and close to full. It’s played early evening and many fans have spent a few hours drinking before the match. It has much more of a football feel to it. I’ve seen numerous altercations at the GF. Many trivial, some more serious. Caused by fans spending most of the match going backwards and forwards to the bar buying beer for themselves and their mates. Beer gets spilt, people object to continually having to stand up, it kicks off.

I don’t see anything wrong in allowing fans to bring a single drink to their seat at the start of the match and at the beginning of the second half. But if they keep the bars open throughout the match and allow fans to go backwards and forwards to buy beer it will cause aggro.
