After about 8 years with Orange, I'm moving to Vodafone. Just got what I think is a great deal. 600 mins, unlimited txts, unlimited WAP, 18 months for £30 a month. Got a Nokia 6300 free, with another one chucked in for good measure on pay as you go! During the call I mentioned "oh, could I get a bluetooth with it", having seen one for £20 on the site, and was about to give me card details to pay for the bluetooth headset. "I've chucked that in for free for you" came the reply. I didn't argue with that!

"Now there's a £5 delivery charge" the guy said, but staring at me on the Vodafone website is a big thing saying "all orders are delivered free". I told him that and without thinking about it for a second he said "OK, no delivery charge".

Oh, and I got the first 3 months half price too! I'm sure I could have gone further, but I didn't.

So if you're thinking of moving network, knock em down and get the freebies! And if you're leaving Orange, or any other one for that matter, be very careful when cancelling. I wrote to them 2 months ago telling them I was going to cancel so there'd be no problem. Rang to give em 30 days notice by phone, and asked for a PAC code. They never sent me one. Then I rang them last week, asked for the PAC code again. To make sure I rang them an hour later to check if the PAC code had been requested, it hadn't! I threatened them with OFCOM and it arrived 2 days later. Now they're dragging their heels saying I didn't give 30 days notice and stuff, so just be careful.

And I realise that I'm moving to a network that used to sponsor the Rags. However, I feel they've been with AIG long enough for them to be 'safe' to go to.

You're not gonna wear one of them bluetooth things are you, they look ridiculous!

Don't worry, I'll wear my Bluetooth headset when driving only, and not wear it whilst walking around B&Q or in the pub like idiots do! Saw one guy in the pub with it on, "why have you go it in sat in the pub", he replied "I'm expecting a call". The phone was just sat on the table, both his hands were free.

Idiot.

Just don't ever go with 3. They are fucking awful.
You think so? I'm on Pay as you Go with them and I like it. Free MSN and Skype. £5 for 80 texts a month, 50p for 2 days of mobile internet. Shit hot phone too.

so my contract is up with o2 in feb. get a free upgrade in jan so once got that goin 2 cancel, how much notice will i need 2 give?

Orange used to be my ISP. When I left them they buggered about with the code, but OFFCOM advised me and they soon changed their tune. Then some time later I received a lengthy letter that started with the usual "Sorry to lose your custom blah blah blah..." but right at the bottom they advised me I owed them 100 quid for some equipment they had sent (which never worked anyway) and that it would be deducted from my account by a certain date.

I instructed my bank to make sure nothing was deducted and they never wrote to me again.

I had to give Orange 30 days notice to cancel. But just be careful, Orange did their best to drag it out another month. I have to pay my monthly tariff a month in advance (They sneak that one in!), but pay the call charges the following month. So in November I have to pay Decembers tariff charge and Novembers call charges or something strange like that. So if i cancelled now, and was expecting the last payment to come out in December, then I would have already paid Januarys tariff payment in advance and woulnd't get a refund. B@stards. Luckily the guy I spoke to was helpful and told me this. So I just cancel my Direct Debit next week, and in December I'll just get an invoice to pay Novembers call charges, as I paid the December fee in November. Confused? Yeah, that's how they want you to be!!!!

mackenzie - When I got my PAC code, they dated it wrong as well, a few days later than when I called (by chance, which would have falled into Decembers billing month, so another month to pay for!). When it said that the contract will be cancelled 30 days after the date of the letter, I smelt a rat, especially after they'd already dragged their heels with it.

VODA-FCKUKIN'-PHONE??!! Are you mad?? How quick do you forget whose shirt they sponsored? I cancelled my contract with them the day the scum signed them up, (And still have their letter APOLOGISING for sponsoring them) and, like Sharp, will NEVER buy anything from them again. Wouldn't touch their products if they were free.
Once they have sucked Satan's cock..................

Just upgraded with Orange. Free SE C905, 200mins and unlimited sms for £20 a month. Suits me down to the ground!
