If only to attract top players…….no CL and they won’t sign

For all those who personally don't care a lot about the CL — and up to a point, I am one of them — this simply cannot be said often enough. The sheik cares about the CL; the chairman cares about the CL; the manager cares, very much, about the CL; the players care about the CL. And above all, any player of real quality in Europe or further afield that we would like to bring to the Etihad cares very much about competing in the CL. (And also, there are quite a lot of supporters who care about it, whatever is said on here). Does anybody really think that Erling Haaland would have come to us if year on year we had not been competing in that competition?
We really do have to aim for top four. Better, top three. It's not a given, but it can be done. I still believe that we'll improve in the second half of the season. United didn't get it last year, nor did Chelsea. It's not the first time, for either of those clubs, that they've been out of it over the last ten years. We now have the proud tradition of the longest consecutive participation in the CL of any English club. Let's keep that proud tradition going. It makes sense.

By any measure that's shocking.

You simply can't influence a game with so few touches. As I've said I don't think I would play him for now and I'd play another midfielder and push Gundogan forward a bit.
I would suggest you have a look at how many goals the rest of our team have contributed this season before thinking taking Haaland out is a good idea.

Or maybe play balls to him?

There were so many opportunities last night where the wrong ball was played in.

Dinked to no one when it should have been drilled or aimed to Haaland, or not dinked towards him when it should have been.

I bet he was fuming with such little service.

Whilst our midfield is under performing we should have 2 up top, but we don't have a second option.

Squad planning for this season is terrible.

Qualifying for next years CL is the most important sporting achievement for the club this season....it is the hinge that everything swings on.

Its on a par with winning the 115 charges.

Watch the service Haaland got/gets at Dortmund and Norway.

Our tactics and structure will never get the very best out of him if they continue.

Pep is not beyond scrutiny and constructive critism....he's part of the team !!

Alvarez has been a huge loss. Doing really well over in Spain. Ok, his first touch wasn't great but we miss his energy, pressing and something really important like GOALS!

Madness not replacing him.
