Some of these people were probably the same ones who said what a waste of money buying Ake was .Its because he came from an unfashionable club and likewise this is just the same.
The number of people who have stated on Blue Moon that they`ve changed their opinion of Ake has been remarkable and at the price quoted for Philips is a no brainer.
 
Sounds like a decent deal to me. I don't follow other clubs too closely but has Leeds recent poor form been partly down to Phillips not playing?

If Phillips at £30m is a “no brainer”, I have to ask what Boubacar Kamara on a free is. 22 years old, much higher ceiling and he bests Phillips on nearly all stats already. As for the “worked with Bielsa” point, Kamara works with Jorge Sampaoli, who also is a Bielsa disciple and who had Juanma Lillo as his assistant for awhile as well

And this is just one example of a much better deal

Then get Bellingham next summer. Look to do the cheap deals at full back. Liverpool have Trent and Robertson as first choice. Real Madrid have Carvajal and Mendy at full back. Walker and Cancelo are quality first choice options. We just need someone with some pace to come in as cover, the recent injuries have shown how weak we can be to the counter because of a lack of speed. Walker or bust.

Why would you pay so much more for a player that isn't that much better if he actually is better

The snobbishness of some of our fans regarding other teams players is rag esq
