Kompany is the real deal. He came to our beloved club unsure of the role he would fulfill. Despite his preference for midfield he has commanded the center of defence to a greater level than those more experienced, both around him and before him. He has been a true ambassador for the Club on and off the field. The lack of "drama", his exemplary behaviour, the way he has embraced "Mancunia" and most of all his courage, drive, ambition, dedication and LEADERSHIP make him the only true candidate. City may not be better off without Carlos Tevez, but we will undoubtedly be better off without him as Captain. Vincent Kompany, stand up sir!

Immense performance. Looked a big man walking down the tunnel and looked like some of the lesser experienced inter lads bricked it when he strutted down there. Willing to take responsibility which breeds confidence in the rest of the players, most notably Lescott

Just a bump for a thread on King Kompany.

Can't remember if it was bae bale or vdv but he was on a really high line at one point against spurs and made a brilliant tackle as they ran at him, in the hope they would fluster him.
Not a bit of it, didn't step out or back of just got the ball and left the spurs player sulking on his arse.

Wouldn't swap him for anyone or sell him for any price.

I love Kompany, but it needs to be said that in City's two most recent losses against United, his slip ups have given United the game winning goals in both games. Other than that, the guy is pure class.
