No I didn't think it was aimed at me, why should it be ?

But fair enough if it's another announcement, I just figured he was in it anyway as there were only 20 in the camp.
I hpe he goes to the World Cup, then it makes it easier for Pellegrini to figure out if he can be trusted in the Prem. He must hopefully have a decent chance, as I don't think you could make one decent defender out of all the others.

If not, then we could have a problem if he wants to stay out on loan & we need to register him as a 'home produced' player. If he did make the grade, he would be taking up a senior squad place in europe

Surely, if the club do rate him, we would have to bring him back if that was the case ?

Also, if he does get to the World Cup & do well, we have the next rags manager in charge of him, & they will, without one shadow of a doubt, try to tap him up if they think he's any good. Thinking about it now, if he is the prospect some of you think he is, it might actually be better for us if he doesn't go, as he would be a lot closer to getting a game in the rags team than ours. They can offer him a fast track to the first team. They will, if they think he's any good.

I think his contract runs out in June 2016, so if he's away til summer 2015, & he does have a brilliant next season on loan, he will hold all the cards when it comes time to renegotiate & would be able to pretty much choose where he plays. It might be time to back him with a new deal/extention if they think he is going to make it, considering the rags manager will know him better than Pellegrini does

I think Rekik is here for the long haul.

With Mangala coming in this summer, the club will have to choose between Nastasic and Rekik. I think the club will choose Rekik since he counts as homegrown and also club trained (I think).

Good news for us, but makes a mockery of the rule doesn't it? Nothing stopping us buying 100 16/17 year-olds, loaning them all out for 3 years, cherry-picking the top 5 and having them as club-trained players.

Think Rekik, is a great prospect and looked a step above when I've seen him with the EDS, but I have to agree that its really strange how so many people have forgotten about Nastasic.

Nastasic's debut in the Bernabeu, against one of the best teams in the world, where he held his own. First full season in the prem and he didn't look out of place. Lad was injured most of this season, so harsh to judge him on that.

The lad is only 21, looks strong and assured and plays it from the back very well and will only get better. Full pre-season with no injury and he will be like a new player. For me, he is our answer to the "Need a CB" problem, and Rekik can be cover. The experience of demichelis and Kompany will certainly help both to develop as well and demichelis could be experienced cover.

His chances are not very big.

Terence Kongolo of Feyenoord will probably make the cut and Rekik will miss out...deservedly so because he's not been very good overall this season (just like most of PSV's defence).

Saw a piece linking him to a loan move at WBA. Probably bollocks but you never know.

From one point of view, that would be great as it allows us to asses him in the Premier League, but from his development point of view I would rather see him go somewhere like Italy.

Of course if he went to West Brom & was excellent, then it's happy days & he can then just come straight to City, but I genuinely fear that he will get the absolute piss ripped out of him in the Prem, & would prefer him to gain more experience first, otherwise it could kill his City career stone dead before he even matures as a player.

Italy's completely different to the Premier League. Very slow pace giving defenders tons of time that they wouldn't get in England. Only worth him getting experience if it's going to be of benefit to us.
