KDB or Haaland?

The Croatia-Belgium game earlier today (once again) just shows it doesn't matter how many chances are created if a team have a misfiring striker like Lukaku up-front.

I know I'm biased, but I've my reasons why I prefer Haaland over KDB without a shadow of doubt.

- Already top 3 striker itw as a 20 yr old. Best player itw right now. He's years away from entering his "true prime years". He may end up as the GOAT striker before his 30s. KDB was never the best midfielder/striker at any point of his career and never will be.

- Elite finishing is the most valuable attribute in football. It's not a coincidence the best players itw happens to be forwards with incredible goalscoring production with outstanding level of finishing. After all, games are won by outscoring your opponent.

- Man City never had a generational talent in their history before Haaland's arrival. KDB has never been that caliber of a player.

Is this really up for debate????
KdB all day long - Erling is brutal in front of goal, but wouldn't score for fun without the support

Except for Messi, nobody scores for fun without service. As I said, goals wins games and Haaland has done it better than anyone else.

KDB's is amazing at creating chances, but these have been completely wasted far too often due to Lukaku, Sterling etc. missing chances. Thanks to Haaland, even most non Man City fans can recognize how special of a talent KDB is as a passer as they'll be in highlight reels for Haaland's goals.

Kev is the best player we’ve ever had imho just sublime.

I was too young to see Bell.

KDB isn't Man City's best player anymor3. Bar season ending injury, Haaland is certainly gonna win multiple individual awards due to his insane goalscoring numbers

But you said he's been meh, not what will he do or what will he win. In those few months he's been the furthest thing from meh one could be. Have the expectation levels really gone to a foreign universe? Meh? SMH...
Seriously do one mate, if you can't understand what I am saying, ok haaland is jesus christ the best player that walked the earth, is that good enough for your narrative? He has been meh, as I think this season we have played the most unattractive football for a long time, mainly to shoe horn him in, I think aguero had a bigger impact when he signed, but I forgot to read the memo that said we all have to agree about haaland, not saying he won't go on to be a legend at the club, but at the moment I am meh over him, so what ?

Thanks for coming on here and telling City fans who we are allowed to rate. How ever did we cope without you plastic newbies

I don't have a narrative fella. No one said he's Jesus Christ. I'm just trying to figure out how someone with his numbers has been meh. We haven't looked all that fluid yet, agreed. If you want to chalk it off "mainly to shoehorn him in" knock yourself out. But we've looked like shit in games when he's been out even more so. I think he's exceeded every expectation so far, so what?

Haaland, goals are the most important part of football and a guarantied regular world class goal scorer is priceless.

The KDB of 3 seasons ago was magnificent, he dominated games, scored goals, created chances for fun, still a stunning player but this last 18 months a player who has incredible moments but not as dominating as he once was.

He has basically a goal to game ratio at international level in a poor team

Obviously nobody can score regularly without any support at all, but Haaland has proven he doesn’t need to get surrounded by top players to be a top goalscorer.

KDB probably wouldn’t also have the freedom to be the creative force he is without support, as we’ve been seeing with Belgium.

Depends how you look at it.

Messi has certainly scored a handful of good solo goals in his career, but other players have too

The reality is the vast majority of his goals still come from good team work and service

The amount of goals Messi has scored without any service or teamwork will be a tiny fraction of his overall total.
