Keir Starmer

I think he’ll be more radical than many people think but knows that anything too radical said now gives the Tories ammunition to use “magic money tree” bollocks in response to promises made now. His priority is to be seen as not corrupt and not to scare off the socially conservative vote that have kept the Tories in power for 13 years but have finally realised that the government are useless. He will have calculated that the vast majority of Labour’s core support will vote for them anyway so pissing off a significant proportion of them now is a risk worth taking when looking at the bigger picture. Once in power I think things could look very different.
Sir Keir Starmer

A knight in the establishment order.

A duplicitous puppet.

I’m not averse to him changing his pledges, particularly before a manifesto has been created tbh. I’d be more concerned if they didn’t in the current climate tbh.

Doesn’t mean I agree with him about this pledge specifically though.
I hope he does something about the huge debts that every student aged 18-32 has had to accrue.

Lying politicians are quite good now.
It appears we've reached peak Keith. People who have no problem with him lying like fuck to get where he is are hoping he has been lying like fuck for the last 3 years in some sort of elaborate hoax to outwit the RW press.
The reality this is it and the RW press will monster him anyway, particularly as he's invited attack lines over his previous record as DPP.

Nothing to do with the current climate it was openly acknowledged at the time ... even if it wasn't widely reported.
Straight from the Hodges mouth...

If he wanted to be even slightly radical why would he be purging the left of the party?

I know, I remember him saying it. The current climate is significantly different even from then.
