Labour saying they will improve public services with money from non doms, bankers bonuses, the famous book of tax loop holes and the rich(last time I believe the rich were those earning just above an MP huge slice of luck there) is nothing new.It was on LBC this morning (on the way to work) and even Ferrari (name is a serious contradiction) found it hard to question it apart from saying ‘This 3 billion is going a long way’, basically trying to debunk it with whataboutery.
I’m not sure the Tories have anywhere left to go. They’ve syphoned off as much as they could leaving them in a position where they can’t keep the country afloat.Labour saying they will improve public services with money from non doms, bankers bonuses, the famous book of tax loop holes and the rich(last time I believe the rich were those earning just above an MP huge slice of luck there) is nothing new.
These aren't carefully thought out policies but a mere repetition. I expect the Tories to return to magic money trees and its all about the economy stoopid before long.
Fortunately for Labour the current Tories have managed to fuck up hugely on pretty much everything they have touched.
When it comes to politics, we all have a choice. For this turn of the wheel, Labour will get my vote and the likes of Starmer, Rayner and Cooper will have 5 years to prove that they deserve my vote again. Our politics is in such a bad state at the moment, a Tory party mired in sleaze and incompetence, a Labour party with a leader who lies as much as Johnson with front bench team with the likes of Reeves and Streeting. What has happened with the Copeland CLP is astonishing, Starmer hates the left more than he hates the Tories, he has even admitted to being a conservative.
We are fucked.
I wonder who will get parachuted into Copeland. Our politics is in such a bad state at the moment, a Tory party mired in sleaze and incompetence, a Labour party with a leader who lies as much as Johnson with front bench team with the likes of Reeves and Streeting. When that choice is voting for shit or shittier, it's not really a choice. When that choice is voting for a right wing party or a further right wing party, it's not really a choice. When that choice is voting for a party whose MP's have been funded by private healthcare companies or voting for a party whose MP's have been funded by private healthcare companies you don't really have a choice. When that choice is voting for a party who does not support trade unions or a party that does not support trade unions you don't really have a choice. When that choice is voting for a party that does not support renationalisation of vital infrastructure or a party that does not support renationalisation of vital infrastructure you don't really have a choice. When it comes to politics, we all have a choice.
I’ll stop at your first sentence. In this day there is no right or left, there is only those who want to take and those who at least want to earn their corn, or is it quorn? When that choice is voting for shit or shittier, it's not really a choice. When that choice is voting for a right wing party or a further right wing party, it's not really a choice. When that choice is voting for a party whose MP's have been funded by private healthcare companies or voting for a party whose MP's have been funded by private healthcare companies you don't really have a choice. For an old Democratic Socialist like me, there is no choice between the two major parties, the Lib Dem's are everything I despise, the Greens do not stand in my constituency and I have never felt so disenfranchised.
