Keir Starmer

Ahh, spoke too soon:

that hit home

same story except it was a heart attack and I never found a doctor who knew who I was. my surgery merged into a health centre on a newbuild estate during COVID. all the old doctors long gone. just the narcissists and juniors left. I've had less care in the last three years than in most single months up to 2017. literally. they tell me to do admin tasks for them so the tasks on the treatment plan are ticked off. there is no care or support at all. I've got mental health and a heart attack plus ongoing problem, they gave me to the newest member of staff, she never even followed up after my hospital stay, was supposed to organise aload of stuff to happen with in a week, but instead she waited that week out, sent me a text on the friday evening last thing, telling me to book an appt for a blood test and do other admin.

He is caustic on Streeting but Morris' message is pretty clear, they are the only hope to turn around something utterly unimaginably dreadful on a human scale, unimaginably wasteful on an economic, cultural and social scale.

I'm one of hundreds of thousands, I'm quite sure. I don't call the doctor. I never did a follow up, no blood test, no scans, no specialists. I was too ill, on and off, to keep the appts they'd set. Mental health appalling, and the doctors just walk off in the exact manner of the guy in Morris' video who says "Well, you won't see me then, I'm a real doctor. Those symptoms are much too serious. Perhaps you'd like to book an appointment with our nutritionist." The only service that I can rely on is the repeat prescriptions. So that's what I rely on, until I find a proper surgery. I've complained, the fatuous one just took me for a ride and complained about his situation, the other doctor I spoke to said, we'll sort it out, don't worry. But no, it just gets kicked back to the junior who does the same trick, impersonal text, me to phone reception and sort things out, start over again.

Honestly. That's what people need to understand. Labour will not be what we want. No govt ever will. Because we're all cunts. That's politics. But don't pretend you don't have a real chance to arrest some of the suffering wreaked upon this country by the worst, most piss taking govt in living memory. Because you do.

Starmer still gets a pass for now from me because it's right that he wants that majority. And his tactic of jumping on the centre-right position at the right moment has worked a treat - the tories drive off the edge of the nutters-only cliff, have to start again.
