I'm not even arguing who would be the more competent managers so the graphs were completely unnecessary. I mean if anybody is going to be fiscally responsible and not plunge us further into the mire, surely an ex Bank of England economist fits the bill.

I just think, given the challenges we face, crumbling services, shit being pumped into waterways etc., we need something bolder than the same old recycled economic dogma. Hearing the language of austerity is only adding to my cynicism.

You posted videos of Osbourne lying, complained that Starmer said things slightly similar to Osbourne (who then didn't follow anything he said) and now you don't know what you want except it can't be from the 90's or the 10's.

I've just seen that interview. His lack of knowledge of Scottish politics said it all.

The more I think about what he said, the angrier I get. Instead of talking in a thoughtful and mature way about how Labour would resolve the challenges facing the NHS he went immediately to a 'foreign workers trope'. Whilst he didn't use the language of right wing extremism like invasion and illegal, why the fuck would he concentrate on foreign workers when they are what is keeping the NHS afloat and will invariably be part of any solution.

He is more interested in not scaring the right wing than engaging maturely and honestly with the country.

Shame on him.

Probably right that he's being too cautious but he knows about the power of the media and that exaggerated headlines win elections so he's doing his best not to give certain influential elements of the media any ammunition that will stick. I think we'll see a different story if he wins the next election.

Yeah, that might be the case. I think though very many of us are sick to the back teeth of 'spin'. I want him to tell the country honestly what labour are about and how they will address the challenges facing the UK. Honesty. Common sense. A long term plan. Not more fucking lies and half truths. We can get enough of them from the Mail.
