I'm normally very pro Starmer but have to admit being a bit disappointed having heard what he said.

The only gloss i can put on it is that putting your stake in the other sides turff is a long standing way of winning elections. Tony Bliar did it, Cameron did it, both won back power for their parties and both ultimately reverted back to the true nature of their politics (Blair/Labour did some great things, Cameron/tories did some truly shity things that have led us to the mess we are in.

Let’s hope they are if that means saying one thing to get elected and then completely ignoring it and then doing what you believed in all the time.
In Labour Party terms it might be called ‘doing a Livingstone’.
I’m not hopeful but you never know…..
