I wouldn’t say the New Labour bunch are such and Starmer seems a totally reasonable man.
He’s got a sense of maturity about him.
I’ll have to see their manifesto first but he seems capable.

How is Kier who is very much soft left - bang in the middle of the spectrum of labour supporters a cult figure. He is a bit too left for me as i'm a Blairite centrist. If a proper blairite won the nomination then yes you could say that there were two cults at work but the reason that Keir won a landslide is he is Soft left and a Corbyn ally. He held a high position in Corbyns cabinet as he was trusted by the cult, be he was never part of it but neither was he part of anything else. There were plenty of centrist labour members who were considering leaving the party but Keir was not part of that. He was the stand out candidate because he was quite clearly appealing across the full spectrum of the party not to either extreme.
Any way Burgon has just been given the boot - yipee.

We can all be happy that dozy twat burgon is gone as a staunch left winger myself he got on my tits.
On the other point, Labpur is stuck between two focus grpups power struggle, Progress a neo-liberal soft capitalist lot and mommentum left wing ideologues, either gaining control is bad for the party
I would put starmer in the middle of them rather than an acolyte of either.
His job now is to balalnce the two factions, as the scorched earth policy of both the last 40 years sees this party implosion every decade or two

I think you will find that blairites such as myself are pretty close to the central point of UK political thinking.
The mind set of the hard left is that the only solution is a hard left big state approach and those that dont support it need to be convinced to support it - it is destined to failure every time. The blairites accept that you will never convince enough people and the only way to win power is to set out your stall just to the left of center and gain enough support to win power and turn the dial slowly.

You never really hear "he's a fundamentalist moderate".
For me, the whole idea of being a centrist is that you're not in a cult. You're open to ideas from either side of the political divide.
A far-right cult, definitely. A far-left cult, without a doubt. But a moderate cult? Isn't that an oxymoron?
The rest of your post makes sense but this doesn’t, neoliberalism is extreme capitalism, not soft. A neoliberal state has no or very little public funding and that’s not New Labour/Blairite policy.

For me the perfect is conservative socially and moderate economically.
That’s not neoliberalism.
Blairite politics involves a big safety net for people, mass investment in public services etc. whilst having a competitive private sector.
Neoliberalism is leaving everything to the market.
It would be Osbourne’s period of Chancellorship, if he’d have binned the NHS completely, in favour of private hospitals and an American system.

That’s not Third Way politics, if you’re going to sneer at something at least learn to know what it is.
In layman’s terms it’s selecting each policy on merit, often choosing from both the left and the right for different policies.
It’s successful because it’s a mature approach and objective, not driven by ideology, which Corbynism is.
A Blairite would never nationalise the broadband industry, as it’s a fucking stupid idea, whereas Corbyn and McDonnell wanted to because, well they’re socialists, even though it would have ruined the industry and lost many jobs.
