I have said it before on another thread: I read a book in the summer call 'Hothouse Earth' the gist of which is unless all air travel was banned tomorrow and all road traffic (except maybe ambulances/fire engines) there is nothing we can do. Polluting the planet since the 18th century cannot be reversed.

So for Starmer to put green issues forward to try to score political points might find favour with younger people, but because of the demographic situation it won't actually help him get into power, so why do it?

You can insult the older generation if you like, but maybe they are aware of the findings in this book too (my parents certainly are, as I told them about it) and they are not c***ts they are just aware of the truth of the matter.

4,000 - 5,000 aircraft were carefully guided to the ground in under two hours.

If it happened now, I bet it would be 6-7 thousand.

Me driving an electric car (if I could afford one and charge it - I live in a flat) is not going to make a blind bit of notice to air pollution, is it?

Sure, Corbyn was a reluctant leader. The policies set out by Labour were POPULAR across the board; not just a students support scheme.
