Kemi Badenoch - Elected Tory Leader

Another nutter.
She does come across as a politician rather than a normal person. Mind, so did Jenrick.

Also heard a constituent of hers earlier saying she was parachuted in to her constituency to become an MP and has never lived there, and hasn’t done anything for those that live there.
I know it’s not just her, and all parties do it, but it really grinds my gears when people stand who don’t live in the constituency. I’d ban it!

We only need 100 MPs for example. It's not 1689 or whatever. A cull of politicians is required at a national level so you can't complain to them about not sweeping up the leaves. Thats local

Why please explain

It's not so much that the comments are in themselves "nasty" but it's a nasty individual who chooses to try and score points over something like this.

She cannot help but make disparaging comments even when there is no possible benefit from doing so. It will be her downfall.

The comments she made about disagreeing with maternity pay a few weeks ago were downright weird as well.

There's more chance of Reform overtaking them than Badenoch becoming PM. They have the same ideology and policies but a more charismatic leader without the baggage of having previously been in Government.

Nothing new there is it?

Although she isn't lying. 145 out of 180 in transparency internationals corruption perception index.

I suppose she at least has lived experience.

I've lived in Nigeria and she's not wrong.

Badenoch has a British Passport because her wealthy parents flew over just prior to her birth in 1980 to ensure she was born here, this was before the British Nationality Act of 1981 abolished automatic birthright citizenship for those born in the UK, the family then returned to Nigeria. Back in the day this was not an uncommon occurrence, a British passport opens doors a Nigerian one does not.

She really only moved here when she was 16.

Regardless of whether it might be true or not, what was the point in her including it in her speech. It shows really poor judgment.

She was not raised here, she's out of kilter not because of her politics, but because she never acquired those intangible nuances most folk raised here do.
