I mean a proper rest
Not sure a rest is the answer tbh mate. In fact, on the occasions when he's been in that position behind the striker, bursting through from midfield, he looks like the old Kev. I just think he has to be played in his best position, or at least where he can whip those crosses in from either flank, a bit like Gerrard used to do (sorry). That's when he's at his best, sneaking up from the deeper positions.

Quality for the last two goals. Most assists in the PL. Interesting to see what Pep does with him for the rest of the season in terms of his position.

Better. Still not playing as well as he can, but fucking clinical for the second and third. Hopefully he'll get on a roll after today.

His crossing is his biggest asset and trumps anything you get from him in the middle.. Pep has a choice to make, would be harsh on Raheem though if Kev takes a more permanent role out on the right?

Played better in the centre last year than he did on either wing, probably just a form/mood/opposition tactics thing. No harm in having him switch with the right winger at times mid game to keep the opposition guessing, saints didn't know what was going on at times with Navas and Dinho switching today.

Two assists today. Both very different, but in each case the ball was inch-perfect.

Kevin timed the pass to Leroy at exactly the right moment, otherwise Sané would have overrun him and been offside and the one for Sergio's goal was lofted just enough to allow Kun to time his run and jump perfectly. Yes, Agüero still had a lot to do to reach the ball, but without the great cross from Kevin, it wouldn't have been 3-0.

He's an attacking Mid. Best in either the Center or Right. So much of his ability is handicapped playing in that 8 role

Hopefully those who go on about his value to the team will stop talking now. Fantastic performance and 13 assists this season is excellent.

It was a good team performance but De Bruyne was another player who was a worthy candidate for man of the match.

Nice one mate, could watch that all day!

I have actually caught myself doing that regularly this season, going back watching his key passes, through balls, long diagonal balls (usually to Raheem, everybody seems to love feeding him from the back, Kola, Yaya etc), assists etc. Or combinational plays he and David are involved in. Haven't done that for ages. Don't know how many times I've watched that pass of his to Raheem leading to 2nd goal vs Arsenal at home. It becomes better every time I do...

Before the beginning of this season, all we had in Kevin was potential. Huge perhaps, still potential. One of Guardiola's biggest challenges, as far as I am concerned, because Kevin was not a youngster. It would be a pity for such a talent to be lost, thank God that was not the case. What a fucking player! And he still hasn't reached his full capabilities, if he keeps working hard, if he maintains his ambition, he can become the best player in the world...

PS. Look how relieved he seems celebrating in Leroy's arms. I don't want to start bitching after such a great win away, but this group of players have suffered all season long. People often question their mentality, confidence levels etc. It's not easy entering the pitch knowing that somehow you'll be robbed again from the victory -and the points- you've worked so hard for, the victory you deserve. How many times has it happened this season? Then go home, watch on television the way refs "treat" your direct rivals? Stay calm, go to the training ground next day, try to maintain your composure and faith so that you won't be a bad influence to your teammates, focus on the next game. Only to experience a deja-vu, right? Not easy at all, trust me. They're only human you know...

Fucking 100% correct.
