That goal is a thing of beauty. Sane's running style is so relaxed and graceful, yet he is moving 20% faster than any other player. He adjusts his stride intuitively to stroke the ball home. Not something you can teach. Kev was back to his best as showcased by his initial flick and the perfection of his lay off for Sane.

Sané did a good job of staying onside, but it is lucky the linesman wasn't cockeyed, because he was a full 10m behind the play...that's how quick the breakaway was, especially considering he had a head start!!

We are certainly starting to create some fantastic goals. This Navas-KDB-Agüero-Silva-KDB-Sané masterpiece was certainly quicker than the last masterpiece, which included a touch by every City player without an opposition touch before scoring, but I would like to see someone smash one in from outside the box every now and then! Delphs cracking goal was a refreshing change from trying to walk it into the goal. Three good goals today, though, so no complaints.
 
KDB has assisted 42 league goals since 2014/15, joint highest with Messi and L Suarez (also 42) in Europe's top 5 leagues. [@Squawka]

As seems to be normal in these cases, I was waiting for an offside flag, and genuinely thought Sane had over-run the attack, but watching the highlights the lad has the wit to stay behind the ball. Definitely not the same lino that turns up regularly for our games at The Lane!

Loved the smoothness with which he checked his stride to stay onside and then to meet the ball KDB played across. Shows you the class and skill sense of the player. He really does look like a silky player.

Hey, Navas gave it a try, and it led to the corner for the first goal, maybe we should get him shooting from range more, that'll sort it out!

Before the beginning of this season, all we had in Kevin was potential. Huge perhaps, still potential. One of Guardiola's biggest challenges, as far as I am concerned, because Kevin was not a youngster. It would be a pity for such a talent to be lost, thank God that was not the case. What a fucking player! And he still hasn't reached his full capabilities, if he keeps working hard, if he maintains his ambition, he can become the best player in the world...

PS. Look how relieved he seems celebrating in Leroy's arms. I don't want to start bitching after such a great win away, but this group of players have suffered all season long. People often question their mentality, confidence levels etc. It's not easy entering the pitch knowing that somehow you'll be robbed again from the victory -and the points- you've worked so hard for, the victory you deserve. How many times has it happened this season? Then go home, watch on television the way refs "treat" your direct rivals? Stay calm, go to the training ground next day, try to maintain your composure and faith so that you won't be a bad influence to your teammates, focus on the next game. Only to experience a deja-vu, right? Not easy at all, trust me. They're only human you know...

Absolutely, as you say they've underachieved this season for the football we've played. We're the best footballing side in the country to watch, slightly pipping Liverpool and referee calls and defensive shockers have scuppered our attacking players chance of winning the league. Must be tough on the young attackers when they've played really well and lost or drawn.

With Pep having the entire summer to sort the keeper and defence and Kompany (massive fingers crossed) looking like he *could* be back, next season should be sensational.

Edit: add to the above... what hasn't been mentioned is Kev looking around him when he's through. He looks in every direction, including behind to know exactly how much time he has to lay the pass on. Once he knows he's got bags of time he perfectly timed the pass so Sane is onside and can generate enough power to take the keeper out of the equation.

Don't think he was going full tilt, by the time he got up to speed he'd caught up and had to slow down to stay onside :)
 
Kev's best game in ages. Maybe a week off did him good.

I was down in the corner yesterday so had a great view of his cross for the third goal and before he struck it, I didn't think he had a hope of setting Kun up like that; should have known better.

He got into that kind of position so many times yesterday, one of the Saints' fans just the other side of the barrier was tearing his hair out. I'm convinced it was something Pep had them work on. Regardless, KDB really caused them problems.

Pep on KDB: "He was a bit down recently in terms of missing a lot of easy balls, but that is because he has a lot of minutes in his legs."

Pep on KDB: "Of course, he is an important player for us. In the last metres he's a guy who creates more. We can't forget he hit 7-8 posts."

Pep on KDB: "But he gives us a lot. He is a fantastic player."
 
Question...

IF we manage to bag both Mbappe and/or Sanchez as rumoured, does KDB drop to the bench regularly as a back up for Silva?
 
Poor performance, looked like he had no energy and wasted that free role. Poor performance in my opinion. I wouldn't even see him as a guaranteed starter this rate.
