Kevin Sinfield - MND Awareness

Did you know that not a single rugby league player has ever been knighted?

Not Dave Valentine, the first Brit in any sport to lift a World Cup (in 1954).
Not Eric Ashton, the first Brit in any sport to lift a World Cup for the second time (in 1960).
Not Clive Sullivan, the first black Brit in any sport to captain his country, who was the first Brit in any sport to lift a World Cup for the third time (in 1970).
Not Kevin Sinfield, with all the trophies and records he had as a player and all the fund raising he’s done by putting his body on the like doing ultra marathons in the manner he has. He’s touching £11m raised over the years now.

If any of these people were footballers, cricketers or rugby union players, I reckon they would have been knighted.

Right lets man the barricades - this is a class thing surely?

Just wonder if he’d turned down a Knighthood, previously ? He seems a very understated character and may have been embarrassed to accept such recognition when he considered Rob as the real ‘hero’.

In my opinion there’s no one more deserving and Rob Burrow should be recognised, posthumously, too.
