Imagine even suggesting that players get paid too much?

Asked about how the UAE could best build a football model, the Premier League club supremo said: "I am a fan of the American model. The European model cannot be sustained without new parameters, commercial parameters that allow competition, that allow revenue distribution, and that will allow talent to continue to prosper."

His comments were made during a live debate at the inaugural Abu Dhabi media summit called Going for Growth.

No ones gonna argue against him an PR wise is a great move to shut up all the bitter jurno scum this country produces.

Hes spot on really, pretty much any team without European football or rich investors is going to struggle to compete working on just their gate income. The only fair part about the league financially at the moment is the Sky money.

Oh, look.

Maybe some missed that bit.

he's talking about what would work down his neck of the woods, not supporting a european salary cap or any such.

tbh tho, it wouldn't surprise me that much if he had.... it would play very badly at home if they sunk billions upon billions into this club. they will want us to be as sustainable as possible as soon as possible. if we make top four, then the investment so far could be justified. I have a feeling that if we don't, they aren't just going to throw another 100m at it, and I don't blame them.
