I can't think of a finer tune to wake from slumber unlike that dreadful god save our queen business which quite frankly would send me back off to sleep. Jeruselem however would have me bouncing out of bed like a coiled spring ready to face the days ordeals with patriotism and panache.

I think Mr Putin has a very nice voice and is very clever in knowing all of the words off by heart.

A lot of people over here would think that ‘A Nation Once Again’ is a much better and more rousing anthem than the current one ‘Amhrán na bhFiann’.

It would be too controversial though, particularly up North, so it’s understandable that it wasn’t adopted. Great rousing tune and lyrics though.

Regarding the Russian situation, I tend or feel that everything going on in the last few years in America, UK, Europe and now Ukraine, has probably more to do with a small number of billionaires pulling the strings and we are in a new age war currently without realising it.

It is a depressing thought really and the helplessness of it if you dwell on it could really drag you down. Without getting bogged down in conspiracy theories (which are as much part of the information war as anything else), I do think that life or living will be Very different for future generations.
I think we have reached a critical mass on this planet and something has to give.
