As far as I can remember City have always played attacking the South Stand in the first half of home matches at the COMS.

Can anyone remember if and when they didnt?

Yep, it happened twice last season.

City started off by shooting towards North Stand at least twice, as that's where I sat last season and every season since we moved to the stadium.

Has to be said, now I'm in 111 I don't really pay much attention as I'm either pissed or too hungover to realise anything.

One I remember was a derby a few seasons ago.

Don't forget the toss of the coin is not to determine who kicks off first, but which end to play to. They start with City facing the SS in the first half, but if before kick-off the captain of either team wins the toss and wants to change this then they may do so. It's sometimes done because of sun in Keepers' eyes or other circumstances.

I think that as a matter of course we should swap around and let the away team kick towards their fans in the FIRST half.

how many times have we seen that if we are winning one nil or drawing with ten minutes to go, the away fans really crank up the pressure, as their team are playing towards them... this would not matter so much in the first half and I would prefer any pressure on our goal towards the end of the match be met with derision from our fans rather than encouragement from the away muppets.

do I now qualify as a sports psychologist?

Nope... its superstition, if we change it we will lose.
