Hey folks,how does the money flow with this ludicrous empty stadium stunt? Do Kiev have to pay city a standard amount? Or does city lose out on the spondoolies because of their racist fans? How on earth can it be a just punishment when however bad a club or its supporters are, the punishment hits whoever it is they are playing? How does it work? It's not as if the Blues are short of a bob are two, but I just wondered.

It is farcical as it punishes City as well. The game will have no atmosphere and will reflect badly on us as a club as well as them. + the fact a load of UEFA hospitality will be handed out locally to Kiev fans. The club should be all over UEFA on this. Yes punish them for being Racist but not in a way that affects City. Playing twice at our ground once whilst empty makes more sense.
Perhaps we should organise a pseudo away trip by booking hotels in Manchester, going on the piss before the game, watching it together somewhere, then all go on the piss again afterwards.
I'd be well up for this.
They got a 3 game stadium ban for fans shouting racist abuse but their fans are still allowed in other stadiums to behave the same way, it should be 6 game ban for their fans, home or/and away, we should still be allowed fans for the away leg, that would be proper punishment, us having 5 or 6k fans at their place, then even with their hospitality sham they would still be being punished

Apart from the cost to the club of the flights, accommodation. food. transport to and from the ground, etc, for the players and officials travelling.I suspect the home team keeps all the money (except UEFA's cut, of course...) so wont bother City financially in any way

I'm not so sure the idea of combining football with an athletic event is advisable. A few rubbers of bridge would be a different matter.
