Kinkladze's Debut Shirt

Can't see it. He stepped up in club when he went o Ajax - and failed. I couldn't say I know how Ajax played at that point, but i'm guessing it would have been to his benefit, so you would expect he would have done much better than he did.
Doesn't take away from his legend status with us though.

That's what i mean, he wouldn't be seen as a key player.

He'd be seen as just a squad player in the recent sides at City.

Your right doesn't take away his status with us, he was one of my favourite players at the time.

Like someone else has stated, Kinkladze went to Ajax as Litmanan's replacement and was played out on the left wing when the deal fell through. He should have stayed in England after City and played through the centre in a free role. A wonderful, wonderful footballer. My hero (along with Gazza).

Truth is he stayed at City far too long, should have left after the first season.

Woud be a star in this City team.

They played 4 3 3 with Litmanen more as an 8 when he joined. I think it was more his attitude that cost him, you couldn't expect Ajax to change the system to suit one player.

The Litmanen story is on wiki, but no one said this at the time, as it wasn't the primary reason. He didn't make a mid season winter trip after only being at the club a few months. It would be like KDB, Silva and Bernardo, Mahrez throwing their toys out as they all just want to play as a number 10 Valderrama style than fit in with the system, not dissimilar to what Ajax were using.

One of my prized possessions. Kinkladze's debut shirt worn v Tottenham in August 1995.

What makes this shirt so special is that he only wore this once with the white brother sponsor. In the following home fixture v Everton he switched to short sleeves. After the Everton game the sponsor changed to a solid black raised felt logo and the white version was never worn again.

Magical footballer, good enough to get in this current side.

One of the rarest 90's City shirts you're likely to find. There's quite a few of the kappa 3rd shirts knocking about, but this is a special one.

Happy to take if off your hands if you're bored of it? Will even cover your P&P :)
