Kolarov

Kolarov gets well too much stick .. he is more than adequate too be a squad player for us .. to say he cant defend is laughable , your all just sheep.. plus hes one of the most exciting players weve got in the sense as soon as he receives the ball your waiting for him too png a 45yard thunderbolt of a worldie through the net

Hes a terrible defender who gets forward alot he scores the odd free kick but most of the times his set pieces are shocking, he has zero pace and so cant get back quick enough after going forward, he always get beaten and incapable of stopping crosses. Cant wait when hes sold so clichy can play everyweek with zaba and rekik as back up.

This unfortunately.

If he could defend as well as he shoots he'd be ideal, but he can't so he isn't.

THIS!

Just not suited to the English game.

OK as an alternative for us but deserves to start for a big team so would be better off in Spain, Italy or Portugal.

If he goes I would wish him well.

Was a big fan of him, i still am! i just dont think he is cut out for the EPL i feel the same way about dzeko at the minute i keep hoping they can find the form they had in germany and italy, both are capable but the EPL doesnt seem to suit them! he has a great free kick but has come up lacking in his defensive duties! All the best if he leaves and 15mil is a pretty good return!

All his attacking talent doesn't compensate for the absolutely shocking schoolboy positioning and defending, he completely unbalances the team and as a result we look vastly more vulnerable when he's in the team.

Couldn't have put it better myself. I will add that i don't think he's best suited to the English game. He is better in the slow Italian game, as it doesn't leave him so exposed. Put a Walcott or Lennon up against him and i'd fear the worst. Clichy is a much better all round player. As for a replacement, Baines at Everton would be my pick.

Inter Milan ramp up bid to sign City duo De Jong and Kolarov

Inter Milan are pressing ahead with interest in Manchester City duo Nigel de Jong and Aleksandar Kolarov.

City are keen on Inter's Italy defender Andrea Ranocchia but any swap deal for the 24-year-old could prove complicated.

Anyone seen Ranocchia?

Yes a "decent" tall CB from Italy, who plays in inter, haven´t got much playing time lately and was injured a while ago. He can´t play LB, in simple words he´s a taller version of savic.

Seem's he's unhappy..

Can see Inter being all over him like a cheap suit.

He wants more playing time, which I think he deserves. He would have got it too, if it wasn't for Clichy being in sensational form at the end of the season.
I'd be really sad to see him go. Leaves us with no cover at left-back.

Zaba? We'd also sign a LB if Kolarov left, probably someone young but if Everton want Adam Johnson so much tempt them with a straight swap for Baines. :P

And the fact that Kolarov was injured during the middle of the season.

Completely pointless if you ask me why are we entertaining a swap for someone who can't get in Inter's side. As far as I am concerned we have more than enough squad players.

If

1. They aren't better than the man holding that position
2. Or are very young ie teenager or younger ie one for the future

Then there is no point signing or swapping anyone.

IMO his departure may be sanctioned if we sign Bale, if we don't can't see him going. Man management then down to Mancini to get the best out of him, if he plays well may get more playing time.

He's a decent player and I do really like him, I'd want us to keep him but I'd understand if he wanted to leave for first team football.

I expect he'd go to italy, perhaps juve and we'd get an alright price for him.

As for a replacement, has anyone considered Rekik? With Zabs able to provide LB cover and Clichy being the clear 1st choice perhaps Rekik could be blooded slightly this season in the carling cup etc. Worth a thought I suppose rather than spending loads on a second choice LB.

Just been watching the season review, I really think he's more important than some people give him credit for.

Yes Clichy is always going to be first choice and Kolarov isn't the best defender, but he's a great squad player. Not to mention his free kicks are quality. He got us out of jail v Napoli and nearly sparked a miracle v United at home with them. Plus the Sunderland goal he scored was so, so key. Having a squad player that can take advantages of set pieces and long shots is really useful imo.

His value and heart were clearly evident when he took the field against Bayern. He caused all sorts of trouble, two shots on target, iirc. Imagine, if Tevez had played we might have won.
