Kompany [Not] Injured - Starts today PT 2.

Some of you really need to take a long hard look at what you're saying, yes Kompany majorly dodged up last night and yes he cost us the game, maybe even the title but seriously, stop with all the hate, he's done so much for the club and he'll go down as being a city legend! He's done so much for our team, played through injury for our team, gives 100% every single match for our team and yet some people are absolutely slating him and acting like he deserves to be lynched. Just think back to the winning season, we wouldn't have won the league if it wasn't for Vinnie's header against the scum, United would have got another title under their belt and we still may not have broken our long awaited premier league title!
A day before the match most people on here, including myself, was having a heart attack thinking Kompany wasn't going to be starting, then he news came through that he should be fit and well we're all partying thinking we would at least now stand a chance! So he made a mistake yes, I'm sure he's the one punishing himself for that considering how much every game means to him!! Vincent Kompany will still go down as a City legend and Hero no matter what happens!

Pelle said he asked him and he said he is OK to play. I dont know if its good that the player decides he is fit, the medical team that saw what happened the day before at training shoud advise Pellegrini that they think this injury can have any bad effect or can play without problem if the player feels no problem.

Of course Kompany surely wouldnt want to miss a game like this, and maybe said he feels no problem but maybe he did. Pretty much he did as the first thing he tweeted was he is getting a treatment today.

Little bit the other way around when Jovetic decides he is not fit.

These are small details, and we are in the dark of course, but maybe it cost us the league. So many problems around injuries, too much to blame it all on luck or the lack of it. The medical teams performance is like Moyes is in charge of it too.
These are very fine calls to make. I am not sure we can really criticise from such a distance

But what you can see is that City have been without two key central defenders for lengthy spells in the season, and lost Aguero for most of it. That has been key. Bad luck, bad preparation? Is this part of the game you have to accept?

If I were City, I'd bring in the very best sporting coaches and trainers. Are the players prepared properly? There are all kinds of muscle strengthening work that can be done on certain players who are prone to certain injuries eg hamstring strains. Are we doing this work? Maybe we are.

In addition to reducing injuries within the squad, there's also an issue with central defenders. Should that have been identified earlier and addressed?

The manager doesn't rate Lescott. I don't either. His passing and touch is poor. Demchelis took months to settle in. Perhaps that's inevitable, but he is a stop-gap, and once again Kompany has a season blighted by injury. He's always injured. We don't know what's wrong with Nastasic.

We need another central defender. Could Pellegrini have predicted Kompany would miss half a season, and Nastasic all of it?

But he's not a God and has let his standards drop this season. He's made some bad errors.

He can be a great defender again for us, and I will defend him, but when he makes mistakes, you can't just pretend they didn't happen

Exactly this.

Let's not generalize the issue (e.g. problem with partnership, supporting the club etc...). As for his injury, well, I do not see how any of his 3 errors was due to an injury. At times he was bursting forward, jumping...so how come that at those very moments when he made mistakes he was injured, and for the rest of the game he was not.

Again, a great guy and all, but this is one of those situations where Pellegrini needs to demonstrate his man management skills, and Kompany his maturity;

- Has Kompany lost some credibility (or some of his equity) with his team mates? He annuled their hard won 2 goals?
- If mistakes of this magnitude were committed by e.g. Garcia, what would Pellegrini do? Would he bench him?

I have a strong suspicion that Pellegrini very hard pre season training is something the players are paying the price. Remember back there were articles from South Africa trainings, players saying they never did it so hard, 3 times a day or similar...
We instantly lost maybe both firendlies vs weak teams. Than that horrible pitch in Asia. Jovetic injuries started at pre season too.

Pelle made it hard for them to make them ready for the pressing style he wanted. You need lot of energy for that, lot of extra running in games, you have to train different way to that surely.

I mean Arsenal horrible injury record now for years has to do something with Wenger's training methods and not pure luck.
Would be fun to see Wenger leave, new managers coming in and they wouldnt have any injury for a season.:)

I think someone mentioned it on Sky,

imagine if Demichelis made the mistake for the 3rd.

Its really annoying reading some of these silly stupid comments. The guy who made a topic about some of our fans being shit is bang on.

Vinny is the best CB we've ever had and possibly in world football too. Week in week out he is class.

A CB is like a keeper in respect that any error is remembered and can be costly. It wasn’t Vinnys best day yesterday, maybe his worst game in years, but to slate him the way some of you are is just a joke.

Hes a fantastic leader, captain and defender. Any club in the world would want him. We are so lucky to have him.

Spot on mate.

The only thing I would say is that he shouldn't be immune to discussion (not criticism)

I said a few months ago that at times he looks shaky, he always seems to look like he's got a mistake in him

Yesterday think it was at 2-1 he was the last line of defence and was under pressure but rather than getting rid he turned back towards goal and instead of going back to Hart he played a blind pass to MDM and Suarez got in but then lost control. That was the EXACT same thing he did against Hull that got him sent off, dallying on the ball and thinking he is invincible

He is by far the best CB in England and one of the best in Europe but at times I wish he would just do the basics and if in doubt play safe

Yesterday will have hurt him big time, and knowing Vinny like we do im in no doubt his next 6 games will be perfection.

I'm sorry but Vinny is not currently the World class CB some of you seem to think he is. His performance level has dropped in the past 2 years and this season he has made multiple mistakes. MDM is currently our best CB !

I love the guy and he is our captain but he cost us yesterday and has cost us at other times too. I don't know why he is struggling but he is.
